I have used a couple different brands of the "on the go" style tin watercolors and honestly this one was the best packaged and the Jane Davenport brand does their job of making everything packaged beautifully and creating a great delight for their customers. The watercolors themselves are wonderful! I like that there are grays and blacks mixed in with the rest of the colors. Other brands push just bright exciting colors so this was a plus for me with this palette. The colors are very nicely pigmented and leaves a lot of room for creating interesting colors by mixing the ones already preset. The colors last quite long as well for being a tiny palette. This palette includes 12 half pans. The colors include mango, apple, blueberry, dove, unicorn, raven, vitamin c, sand, buff, spice, kiss kiss, and cocoa. The colors range from black/darks to warm colors like light oranges all the way to cooler colors. The brights are as you would expect and pack a punch. The lights are beautifully pigmented to create many possibilities of blending out into darker or brighter colors. I think this is the most well branded palette I own. Jane Davenport truly hits this one out of the park. I will buy again.

Well branded and packaged

Nice different coloured standard travel tin, without a mini-or travel brush. (Only one printed on the tin case :-D) Most of the colours are semi-transparent and the primaries are very vibrant. The half pans however, have no number or name or anything on them. Luckily the other similar brand has a number printed on the half pans with quite some exact colours as the ones in this Davenport set. My order arrived with 2 Buff pans and no KissKiss colour. It also took a very long time to arrive (in Miami), missing the shipment of our bulk order at our freight forwarder there (we live on Curaçao in the Dutch Caribbean), so that this small package would cost us $35 dollars to get it here, by lack of other shipments to consolidate. (Of all our orders Amazon only ships books, all else is said to be impossible to ship to our home address. Everything else on the island ships from the US, South-America and Europe, btw.) Because of this same reason I doubt that I will be able to get the KissKiss colour at all, as it will be the only item at the freight forwarder. I will be keeping it though, as we hardly have any art supplies here, and I will use the Pigment information on the Davenport Website to add a colour similar to KissKiss, from another brand. Be it a ready made colour that I have or a mix that is near enough.

Took very long to arrive, set filled wrong (one half pan double, so one missing).

If you are a crafter or art journaler you will love this set of paints. The tin is nice and sturdy. The paint pans are adorable wrapped up individually. The set has a good range of warm tone primary paint colors and neutrals. I was also happy the price I paid was about the same as a coupon price at a chain craft store. Jane does a great job making her products appealing to consumers. Pigment info is on her website.

Colors are not behaving as good watercolors should, they do not blend well or move well. They would most likely work well for craft purposes only, but skip them if you plan on working with a decent watercolor. I tossed them out and now use the tin palette for a few of my Daniel Smith watercolors to which I added a bit of white gouache to make the semi opaque and fully opaque (similar to gouache) lighter tints I was looking for. I have several of the inexpensive Meeden tins (they are the same as this Davenport tin minus the gaudy gold color) and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to set up their own watercolors in travel palettes and bypassing craft paints.

For the price it's really great for a step up from a student watercolor set. The tin is so cute. It's no Daniel Smith, Shmenkie, or Windsor and Newton Professional but it is also a fraction of the price of those. It's a lovely set and the primaries are earthy for muted mixes. It's very nice.

I hoped this product would be a higher grade since the Jane Davenport watercolors are so highly recommended and popular, but it doesn't blend as well as I want it to with other colors like the Sennelier La Petite Aquarelle paints. I'm hoping the Turner paints will be better. Still! For a neutral tone travel set - this works, and there's space to add more colors!

Love Jane Davenport and her Art Product Lines. Watercolors are pigmented and beautiful hues. Loved the way it feels and it doesnt have a strong chemical smell. The only downside is that the pans are too loose and they fall out of place during transport. I remedied this by putting paper towels on the side to make everything snug.

The colors are so bright and yummy. I want to eat then, I won't, but I want to. I hesitated for the longest time, but I'm so happy that I have them. Little drops of happiness. They are a bit grainy, but hey...texture!😁

Great little palette, great for skin tones

Great skin tones plus a couple of essential basics, by the wonderful Jane Davenport. Adorable little palette which also has a thumb holder underneath. All the colours are individually wrapped (nice touch) and it's worth going to her website to download the colour chart if you don't want to bother making a colour chart yourself (she helpfully encloses one). All artist quality paint. Just go and buy it, you'll love it!
