A pervert plumber fitted a spy camera in up to six customers' toilets for his own sexual gratification.
When investigated by police , the tradesman was also found to have a vile stash of child abuse images downloaded on his home computers.
James Hulme, 57, was reported by a victim who found a covert camera attached to her sink after employing him for a plumbing job, NottinghamshireLive reports.
It soon became evident that she was not his first target, as officers discovered he had also filmed several other customers with hidden recording devices in their bathrooms.
The extent of his disgusting crimes was revealed in a search of Hulme's home where police found 302 indecent images of children on his home computers, as well as images involving animals .
Hulme, 57, of Glendon Drive, Sherwood, pleaded guilty to voyeurism, making indecent images of a child and possessing extreme pornographic images.
He was jailed for 12 months after appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, October 27.
Hulme’s offending came to light in June 2018 when he was working at a property in Clifton.
The householder had hired him to some plumbing work and confronted Hulme when she found a spy camera attached to a sink in the downstairs toilet he had installed.
Hulme admitted being responsible and fled the property along with the recording device when the woman called the police.
Officers immediately set out looking for Hulme and arrested him after tracking him down a short time later.
During his police interview, he admitted digitally recording the customer and “five or six others” to meet his sexual needs, but denied accessing child abuse material.
PC Jonathan Cooper, who investigated Hulme’s criminality, said: “This was a gross breach of trust and invasion of privacy in a pre-meditated manner for his own sexual gratification.

“Hulme will have to live with this shame for the rest of his life. These offences were gross and his victims will no doubt live with this forever.
“I hope this outcome serves not only as a comfort to Hulme’s victims and their families, but also as a warning to others who might be tempted to engage in voyeurism.
“His convictions for making indecent images of a child and possessing extreme pornographic images should also serve as a stark a warning to others that such criminality does have consequences.
“Behind every one of these sickening videos and images is a vulnerable child being sexually abused by an adult in various parts of the world.
"The physical and emotional impact of that abuse can and does have a devastating impact on those children as they grow older and we are determined to protect other children from a similar fate.”

A pervert plumber put up hidden cameras in women's homes so he could spy on them in a state of undress.
Steven Pitt, aged 49, used his position to set up cameras in the shower at one home and in a bedroom at another so he could watch unknowing women expose themselves for his own sexual gratification.
Pitt sobbed throughout his sentencing at Telford Magistrates Court, which first heard how he fitted one camera while working on a bathroom when the female homeowner was out swimming.
She later noticed that there was something which looked like a pen which had been taped in place on the shower unit.
"She knew it was a camera looking at her," said Sara Beddows, prosecuting. Images gathered showed the victim removing her swimming costume.
The court heard how at another address, he put a hidden camera in the bedroom, capturing footage of a woman in her underwear, as well as her private parts.
An impact statement from one of the victims said: "I feel humiliated. People I don't even know have seen it. They should not have seen me in that way. It has caused me to feel anxiety at a level I have never felt before."
Pitt, of Nuthatch Close, Shrewsbury, pleaded guilty to two counts of voyeurism. The first offence was committed on February 23, 2020, and the second later that year on October 19.
The court heard that Pitt's marriage of 22 years has broken down since his offending came to light, and that he pays £1,600 to his wife each month.
His defence solicitor asked District Judge Marcus Waite to spare Pitt from prison due to the difficulties it would cause his family.
Pitt was sentenced to 16 weeks in jail, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 rehabilitation activity days, as well as pay £330.
"These offences committed are a really serious breach of trust," said the district judge. Speaking of one of the victims, he added: "She described being humiliated and violated.
"These offences are particularly aggravated by the planning. The purchasing of the camera equipment. Finding out the times when nobody would be there. The repeated element of the offending.
