Mar 27, Some friends just got back from a fabulous time skiing NZ after an average time skiing Perisher. One thing that really struck them Queenstown resorts vs Perisher was the differences in food and drink value. For the same price in NZ you get gourmet steaks with fresh vegetables and 4 beers. The venue is a clean, modern restaurant with table service. And very good toilets. Japan, less fresh food but better food at half the price. Beer and wine better in Australia compared to Japan but better again in NZ. Does everyone agree with this? If so why such a discrepancy? If breakfast is provided with accommodation, usually just eat that then dinner somewhere that isnt the ski field. One upset skier took to Facebook to vent after dropping hundreds of dollars for just one day of skiing for their family at the popular NSW ski field of Perisher.
