"Not only do we need voter turnout but if we’re going to use our votes wisely that site is really helpful," she said.
"I’m saying do your research, vote strategically."

How to be safe and smart when it comes to sexting.
Chances are you've heard of the term "nudes." Maybe you've read about them, or heard the phrase on a TV show, or maybe you've even sent them yourself. For those who don't know, a nude is a nude photo, one that is sent to a person over the phone, usually for sexual purposes. What you might not know about nudes, though, is that they are a lot more dangerous than you may think, and sending or receiving one could actually get you in a lot of trouble. So, before you press send on that racy pic, here's everything you need to know about sending nudes.
First off, if you don't want to send a nude, don't. There shouldn't be any pressure involved when you're sending a nude. If your crush is telling you it will make them like you more, ditch them, and find someone who will like you for you, not your nude pics (trust me, someone like that is out there). Just like sex, you should never ever send a nude if you don't feel comfortable doing it, no matter what the person on the receiving end says.
I could easily say, "don't send nudes," but abstinence-only education has never been effective. So, instead, I'm here to make sure that if you do have your mind made up about sending a nude, you're doing it as safely as possible. Number one, that means that you trust the person you're sending the nudes to. This is someone you know, someone who will not show the picture to other people, won't post it online, won't pass it around school. Don't send your photo to someone who may be vindictive or may want to seek revenge on you in the future. The act of someone posting nude pictures they have of you without your consent is known as "revenge porn" and it's a form of digital abuse.
If you trust your significant other wholeheartedly and you want to share your beautiful body with them, fine. But if there's any question about the nature of the recipient, maybe just hold off.
Yes, depending on the state you're in and your age, you could be breaking a law when you send or receive a nude, so make sure you're well-versed if your state's laws before you go snapping and sending.
The laws are created to protect minors from sexual predators, but sometimes, they can affect two people sexting consensually. Federally, it is "illegal to produce, distribute, receive, or possess with intent to distribute any obscene visual depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct." That means, if you are under 18 and you are sending or receiving a sexual picture, you are violating the Prosecutorial Remedies and Other Tools to end the Exploitation of Children Today (PROTECT) Act of 2003.
Alternatively, if you are a minor and you send a nude to someone who is not a minor, that person could also be charged with child pornography , and therefore be marked as a sex offender.
You should also know your state laws, which you check out at cyberbullying.org. In New York, for example, it is illegal to distribute child pornography, and the age of a minor is 16 or younger in the state. So, if you receive a nude of someone 16 or younger and show it to someone else, that's considered distributing child porn and it's illegal. But you can get in trouble for sending nudes too. It's illegal to send sexually explicit content to someone under the age of 17. So, even if you are of age, if you are sending something to a minor, you are committing a crime.
Again, these laws are meant to protect you, not harm you or keep you from flirting with your significant other, but that doesn't mean they won't affect you just because the act is consensual. Take some time and look over the laws with your SO before you start engaging in sexting. That way, you will know where the laws stand in regards to you and you can make an informed decision to move forward or not. If you are committing a crime by sending or receiving nudes, stop right there, just don't do it. Maybe just wait a few years and then send all of the nudes you want.
So, you're going to send a nude, but you want to do it as safely as possible, and you need to prepare for the worst. In order to do this, make those nudes anonymous. Don't include your face in the photo. Don't take it in front of something that is easily recognizable as yours like a poster with your name on it in your bedroom. And finally, if you have a distinguishable feature, like a birthmark or a tat, cover it up.
Don't send your nudes over text. Yes, you can delete the message, but the receiver may not. They can save the photo without you knowing and then who knows what they will do with it. Snapchat seems like a good option because the photos disappear, but there's this little feature called screenshotting that will create problems with that one.
That's why you have to download a whole new app to send nudes. Yes, it sounds like a chore, but better safe than sorry.
Apps like Signal or WhatsApp are good for protecting the photos against hackers, but they don't offer defense against screenshotters. In order to do that try something like Privates , which is a messaging app that allows you to add security measures to protect the pictures you send. Then, there's DiscKreet , which locks up your nudes in a password protected system. In order to view the photo, both the recipient and the sender have to enter a passcode at the same time. If the recipient wants to check out the pic at a later date, they have to send a new request to the original sender.
Again, before you do anything, consider if sexting is something you want to engage in, or if you simply feel pressured to send photos. If that's the case, stop what you're doing right away. If you want to send nude photos, and you trust the recipient, consider the legal repercussions, especially if you're underage. Then, if your decision is ultimately to send a pic, stay safe, keep it anonymous, and protect the image against screenshots or hackers. I am not promoting sexting, but if you are going to do it, be smart and be safe.
