It's a snake, that looks like a penus. Given those two conditions, I'd say penus snake is a pretty accurate and succinct descriptor. If you were out with a bunch of non zoology people and called it your fancy science name they'd look at you and say "huh?" But I bet you call it a "penus snake" and a bunch of them will say "oh yeah!
