Privacy Policy

Penime Leaf keeps your plant collection on your phone. This page explains, plainly, what the app stores, what it never collects, and the one outside request it makes for weather forecasts.

Every day of the week looks the same: no accounts, no analytics, no advertising identifiers.

  • ENTRY 01 Who is responsible Penime Leaf is published by Emma Fleming, an independent developer. For anything about this policy, write to emma.fleming17@gmail.com . Because the app does not operate servers that hold your data, there is no customer database to query, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your data lives on your device and you control it directly. This policy was last updated on 18 September 2026 and applies to the iOS and Android versions of Penime Leaf.
  • ENTRY 02 What the app stores on your device Everything you add to Penime Leaf is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. This includes: Plant names, species, and any notes you write.
  • Photos you take or pick for each plant. The photo file is copied into the app's own storage; the app does not read the rest of your photo library.
  • Watering intervals, fertilising schedules, and the history of when you marked a plant as watered or fed.
  • Your notification preferences and the location you set for weather forecasts.
  • ENTRY 03 The weather request Penime Leaf adjusts fertilising and watering suggestions using the coming week's forecast. To get that forecast, the app sends a request to a third-party weather service. That request contains only: SENT WHY Approximate coordinates of the location you set (rounded to about one kilometre) To fetch a forecast for your area The forecast range (next seven days) To plan feeding dates No name, email, device identifier, plant data, or account token is attached. If you grant the location permission, the app uses your device's current position once to fill in the location field; it does not track you in the background. You can instead type a town name and never grant the permission at all. Weather fetching can be switched off entirely in Settings, in which case the app makes no network requests. The weather provider receives your IP address as part of any internet request, as every server does. The provider's own privacy policy governs how long it keeps request logs.
  • ENTRY 04 Notifications Watering and feeding reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device by the app itself. They do not pass through a push server. No remote service knows when your monstera is thirsty. You can turn reminders off per plant or globally through your phone's notification settings.
  • ENTRY 05 What the app does not do No user accounts, sign-in, or passwords.
  • No analytics or usage-measurement SDKs.
  • No advertising, ad identifiers, or ad networks.
  • No crash-reporting service that uploads device details.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing of personal data, because none is collected.
  • No cookies or web tracking. The app has no embedded web views.

The plant-care guides (light, temperature, humidity by species) are bundled inside the app. Looking something up does not contact any server.

  • ENTRY 06 Permissions the app may ask for PERMISSION USED FOR REQUIRED? Camera Taking a plant photo No Photo library Choosing an existing photo No Notifications Watering and feeding reminders No Location (while using) Filling in your weather location once No Declining any permission leaves the rest of the app fully usable.
  • ENTRY 07 App store purchases If Penime Leaf offers a paid upgrade, the purchase is handled by Apple or Google. Emma Fleming receives aggregated sales reports without buyer names or emails. Receipts are validated on the device. The app does not store payment details.
  • ENTRY 08 Children The app is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13 or under 16 where that threshold applies.
  • ENTRY 09 Your rights Under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA, and similar laws you may have rights to access, correct, export, and erase personal data. Because your data is stored only on your device, you exercise those rights directly: view or edit anything inside the app, export your collection from Settings, or delete the app to remove everything. If you believe the app has handled data in a way this policy does not describe, email emma.fleming17@gmail.com and you will receive a reply within 30 days. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
  • ENTRY 10 Changes to this policy If a future version of the app changes how data is handled (for example, an optional cloud sync), this page will be updated, the date at the top will change, and the app will show a notice before any new behaviour is enabled. New data practices will never be switched on silently.
