When you first started playing The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross, you might get overwhelmed by the equipment system of the game. It is a bit different from other gacha games and contains a lot more important information that you need to know.
This is because you will move those C gears to your association Heroes after you have fully upgraded SSR gears.
Unlocking substats is the easiest way to increase the power of your Heroes.
I have a fully upgraded right-side set for one of my Heroes and now I totally regret doing that because the difference is very small but the costs are much higher.
All you need are 1⭐ Awakening Crystals and 5⭐ Awakening Crystals. This makes the game a lot easier to play, and of course, it’s more efficient.
About farming Awakening Crystal, upgrade your SR/SSR Equipment to +1 then salvage them. After a lot of testings, it’s confirmed that +1 SR/SSR gear provides a great difference. Don’t waste your time on R gears, they are just not even worth it.
Almost all collectible items in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross have a quality level: C → UC → R → SR → SSR (from weakest to strongest).
Comparing to a C item, an SSR item has better main stat but their sub-stats can be exactly the same.
All gears in the game have a primary stat. The primary stat could be different depending on the position of the equipment.
The value of the primary stat is given randomly, within a certain range.
Bracelet, Necklace, and Belt have better primary stats than Ring and Earings.
The tables below show you the maximum value of each gear/equipment in The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross:
All gears in the game also have 5 additional secondary stats, which are unlocked when you upgrade the gears.
Similar to the main stat, secondary stats have the values within a pre-determined range, depending on their slots.
The secondary stats can be percentage-based, not flat numer like the main stat, and is not based on the item’s quality. For example, an SSR ring and C ring could have the same secondary stats. However, the SSR ring costs more to upgrade than the C ring.
You can reroll the secondary stats. All 5 secondary stats can be the same.
The tables below show you the maximum value that the secondary stats could get:
Having multiple pieces of the same set will give you extra stats. You should also look for equipment set bonus when equipping gears for your Heroes.
Here are some general builds you want to have on your Heroes
Sometimes, the damage dealers (DPS) could have other options. Just remember to check out your Hero skills first for choosing the most suitable sets for them.
For Crit Heroes, You can decrease the defense potentials and increase the output damage by using 2-set Critical Damage rather than the Defense set. Using 4-set Crit Rate instead of 4-set Attack is viable for some Heroes.
We will recommend the best sets for each Hero in each Hero individual page.
The Equipment Engraving Stones can be obtained via the Training Dungeon .
Here are some equipment tips for you to have an easier early game.
Rings, Earrings, and Orb : It’s best to fully upgrade your C Rings, Earrings, and Orb. Their secondary stats and primary stats should be the same (Rings=Attack; Earrings = Defense, Orb = HP). Each of them can have a max value of 15%. Most of the time you will have them at 11-12%.
Bracelet, Necklace, and Belt : It’s best to have them at 0-star and +5 SSR quality. You do not need to reroll their main stats yet because you will soon find ones with better main stats. Simply upgrade the better ones you have to +5 and use them. It costs only 15k Gold to upgrade them to +5.
Just play the game slowly as you will get a lot of great SSR items with excellent secondary stats soon.
It’s not worth it to invest in SR gears too soon because they will be useless and you will have to change to SSR gears instead. All of the gold you invested in upgrading SR gears will be a waste. However, If you focus on C gears during the early game, you won’t have to spend tons of resources.
The lowest main stat of an SSR item is still higher than the highest main stat of that same SR item.
You can easily buy C gears from the town vendors. It costs 2,000 Gold each with the exception of Orbs (10,000 Gold).
To get a better main stat, It is cheaper to reroll the main stat of the gear rather than purchasing multiple C gears from the shop.
If you want to see high CC points, Attack, HP, and Defense are the best ones to look at.
But they are not always the best stats. They are only the safest ones to invest.
Heroes that focus on healing are best when using Recovery Rate gears instead of HP gears.
Heroes that deal Fatal damage are best when using Crit gears instead of Attack gears.
It’s best to understand your Hero abilities and skills first before choosing the best gears for them.
Sup guys! I'm Meliodas Junior. I love cooking (even though they are not good) and writing guides for The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross!
in secondary status it wouldn’t be better:
ring = crit chance
earring = defense
ord – lifesteal
since every char has high crit damage and low lifesteal being very useful
Thank you so much for the helpful comment!
Did different equpiment set have different effect on the association hero?
Hi, i was wondering.. is there any difference in the slot that i choose to set up a type of gear?
i mean, is there any diference set up ATK gear on the left/right side, or always def for the right side, stuff like that?
I dont understand the reasoning behind the C equipment. From my understanding its just the secondary stats of C equipment which can be the same as SSR. However the main stat SSR is still higher. Therefore why go for C grade equipment when SSR will grant higher stats in general as its main stat will be higher.
Because you don’t have enough resources to focus on SSR items at the beginning.
Great Guide!!! My main question is what do you do with all the UC, R, & SR gears… melt them into enhance stones? Also is there a guide you’d recommend on what gears to equip each individual with?

We will publish equipment recommendation for each Hero very soon!
Hi, Meliodas Junior. Great guide and very understandable. Though my question is, how many gear sets should you have? The more characters I get the more i need gear and specific substats. Constantly exchanging equipment can become tedious. Thanks is advance!
You should focus on 4 sets at first. After this, work on the other 4 sets for your associating Heroes. After that you can work on more 😀
hey, I’m just new to this game so I have some questions.
1. Green Jericho – should the subtat (on bracer and ring onslaught) full crit damage or full attack or mix?
2. Blue King – should I gear him with 4 pcs attack and 2 pcs defense gears or 4 pcs recovery and 2 pcs defense gears?
(for 2nd and 3rd row equipment substats) > should I: full def and recovery or full def and hp?
(I’m confused now on what should I gear with him)
3. Gear for Red Arthur?
1. Full Attack
2. Defense + Attack is better!
3. Defense + Attack
Demon Meliodas build gear please 🙂
is it necessary to enhance my 5 star C gear to +5? or is it fine to just upgrade it to 5 star and leave it
No need to get them to +5. You can leave them at +0 after getting them to 5 stars!
should i change my blue meli’s ring substat to all penetration?
I have a doubt .. I’ve Just rerolled my main heroes’ SSR gears to the substats needed. Now its better to work on the right side of them or reroll the left side of my associated heroes’? They all have 5* but none rerolled
Better to work on the right side gears first. After you have 4 right-gear sets for your main Heroes, you can start working on the left-side gears!
How do we do to awaken equipment!? I did once but I don’t remember how I did it.
You can awaken your Gears after getting them to +5
The way I’ve been doing it is i got 5 sets of gear with 6 pieces of SSR Gear ( i bought the last one because i got lazy and got a google play card for my b-day: Set 1: Atkx4 Def x2 Set 2: Same as Set 1 Set 3: HPx4 defx2 (normally for my support character or healer; eg. green eli, blue king ext) it helps with the staying alive in fights Set 4: atk x4 defx2 (i have two pieces of equipment to interchange with characters like jericho so it would be Atk x4 and critx2) the …  Read more »
Thanks this was really helpful, could I get reccomndations for Blue Meliodas, Green King and Red Merlin
Well my blue meli have max attack brace, max attack ring for ssr and is it late to switch to R gear for my orbs and earrings?
No you can always switch to them as they will still have a lot of uses in the future!
in main stats, you have it saying belts are defense gear
Which section? I think it’s in the HP section If I am not wrong 🙁
Equipment/gear stats
Main stats section.
It’s the first table of stats if I’m not mistaken.
The first breakdown section after the Jericho image.
Can you give me some advice recommend build gear for Red Gowther, Red Arthur, and Blue King?
thanks before..
HP + Defense for Gowther & King, Attack + Defense for Authur 😀
Crits best for Jericho. Doing 188k crits on this king event. Plus in PvP no one lives through her ULT.
So what is the best secondary stat to get on each gear?
To keep it simple, get full Attack % for the first row, Defense % for the second row and HP % for the last row!
What range of SSR base stats is good? Like for bracer should I try to get above 500?
Always try to get at least 90% of the max cap!
“Healers: 4-set Attack and 2-set Recovery Rate” <- I definitely don't agree. Even if the healing power is based on the ATK stat, a healer that dies fast is pointless. At any cost, a healer must survive in order to heal the DPS (and itself, of course). To me, the best set for a healer is 4-set Defense and 2-set Recovery Rate. That's how my green Liz is set and she's a treasure in hard fights. Cheers !
Thanks for the great comment buddy. I agree with you and will update the guide accordingly!
hello patator … i jus buy an bundle sets of purple stones n blue crystal ring .. but i m not able to upgrade my SSR to UR when i spoke to merlin.. It only allow mi to choose valenti n 3 more characters .. its also says only heroes engrave on the weapon r allow to upgrade ..
so am i missing anything ?? thx in adv.. 🙂
if u playing global, right now they only have ur gear for 4 characters. they will release more once a week or every other week
Defense + Attack is the best combination for him!
