Long wait but so with it. The pepperoni and olive was almost identical to my memory of this place. I can't wait to go have my next birthday party there.
Super friendly staff was welcoming and accomodating, restaurant was clean, price seems kind of high but overall a good experience. The XXL cheeseburger was so overwhelmingly heavy but delicious and the skinny fries were great.
Took an entire day to tell me they wouldn't see my dog again because she was anxious the first visit.
It was already good beer and good people, but last time I was at a stand up show here I was getting roasted for using Yelp and they gave me a free beer to console me. That's love.
This was our first hot pot experience, and it was pretty great. The vegetable and meat selection was wide. The servings were much larger than those pictured on the menu, so be mindful not to order too much. We barely came close to finishing what we had. The spicy broth is super spicy, so don't be shy ordering the medium spice level. The price is steep, kids are half priced but they definitely didn't eat enough to justify taking them for all you can eat again.
Everything we tried was so good, the levain bread was perfect to eat with soup or by itself. Hard crust, chewy inner, wheaty goodness. The jalapeño cheese turnovers are tasty without being too salty. The Apple turnover and tart were delicious without being overly sweet. The sourdough rolls were perfect for sandwiches.
Tried the Monsoon DIPA and Green Rest IPA, fantastic, clean IPAs. The crowlers were perfect for a fresh pour at home. The vibe in the restaurant is very cool, though I only ordered to-go.
Seems like there are not many "obviously great" tsukemen options in San Francisco, despite the many great ramen options. Iza looked promising. I tried their spicy tsukemen with fish powder, garlic and chile powder toppings. Their spicy wasn't spicy, so I added the extra chile powder and it was a hint spicier. The noodles had a great bite, but zero bounce back which lead to a little bit of a dough consistency at the end of the chew. The broth was a breath of fresh air with layers of pork, relatively heavy fish, heavy salt and hints of sweetness which were reminiscent of Tokyo broths. The chashu was sparse, but had been presumably torch seared which led to a fantastic finish. The lean meat was satisfying to break down and the fat was reduced to a custard consistency. I would definitely recommend trying this if you're in the area. One point of frustration was paying for chile powder and garlic toppings. It seems a bit much to me to charge for these very small spoonfuls of usually free toppings.
Really good smooth ice cream consistency, great flavors and super great waffle cones. I recommend the caramel almond crunch. The staff was super helpful and kind, too.
If you like onigiri and tasty marinated meats, you'll love this. I tried the spicy pork and short ribs which were super flavorful, great consistency. The rice and nori is done right, make sure to top it off with soy sauce, sriracha and togarashi.
