The 56-year-old supermodel practically broke the internet last month by posing “full-frontal nude” for the cover of Vogue Czechoslovakia — without any filters or photo editing.
“It’s unretouched,” Porizkova confirmed to Page Six Style of the jaw-dropping shoot.
“As soon as it came out, Twitter was like, ‘Well, fine, retouch [the photos] and then sure, they’ll look fine,'” she continued, recalling the online skepticism she faced when the images were first unveiled.
“It’s like, no, no, no … it was Marie [Tomonova’s] photography! Obviously, you know, you could take a much worse picture than that of me, but you wouldn’t want to see that on the cover, right?”
In fact, the Czech-born beauty didn’t even realize her stripped-down photo would appear on the magazine’s cover.
“I just thought we were screwing around, quite frankly,” she told us of the “very chill” and “casual” shoot at her home. “You know, we were all just hanging out, speaking Czech, having a good time taking some pictures … I figured we’d have a page or two in the back of Vogue.”
A few days later, the team approached Porizkova to ask about running the revealing image on the front of the issue. She enthusiastically agreed, and the glossy was unveiled “exactly four decades” after her first German Vogue cover, a coincidence she said “kind of freaked [her out].”
“My very first Vogue cover was in May 1981, and it was an extreme close-up on my face ,” she remembers. “I was 16 and I thought, ‘Oh my God, the pinnacle of a career is to be on a Vogue cover.’ And then it came out, and you can’t even tell who it is. It’s just a close-up of eyes and a nose. I was like, ‘Oh, great, thanks.'”
Cut to 40 years later, and there’s no mistaking Vogue Czechoslovakia’s latest cover star. Porizkova said she’s been “thrilled” by the overwhelmingly warm reception to her shoot.
“Look, when you’re full-frontal nude on the cover of Vogue at 56, I hope it would have some attention,” she said with a laugh.

Paulina Porizkova struck pose wearing nothing but skimpy string bikini bottoms while enjoying a summer day outside at her home in upstate New York.
For her latest #wednesdaywearables picture, the 55-year-old model took to Instagram to share a topless photo of herself covering her bare breasts with her arm and pointing to a black smudge on her hip that came from her '20-year-old bikini bottoms.'
'It’s supposed to be tan-thru since I hate bikini lines, but it never worked all that well. I still liked it for the material dries super fast,' she wrote of the swimsuit. 'And I thought it was indestructible until this. Black marks that resemble tar started to appear on my hips and shoulders.'

Paulina ended the post by asking her 193,000 Instagram followers to 'send out little prayers of light' to her best friend Tracy Rapp, her goddaughter Sarah Rapp, and Mimi Rochelle.
Fans couldn't help but take to the comments to gush about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit star's incredible figure.

Earlier this month, she showed off her figure in a 12-year-old string bikini while cleaning out her pool, which happened to be filled with green water.
In the snapshot that she shared, she is wearing a tiny animal-print bikini top, a towel around her waist, and rubber gloves.
'Back to what I REALLY look like, guys. My bikini is about twelve years old — it’s supposed to be a tan-thru but so far it still gives me tan lines,' she captioned the image. 'The towel is from the A@P supermarket about eight years ago.'
Paulina's hair is pulled up in a messy bun and she is holding up a slotted spoon that she was using as a makeshift pool skimmer.
'I’m holding a slotted spoon to clean the skimmers in the pool, which has gone a lovely shade of green because the filter doesn’t work and I can’t get it replaced this year,' she explained.

She used her iPad — which showed the cover of the book she was reading — to conceal her chest.
While the image was certainly light-hearted and fun, Paulina delved into more serious topics in the caption, opening up about aspects of the book, On Being Human by Jennifer Pastiloff, that she identified with most.
'This book has just hit the bookshelves as a paper back,' she captioned the cheeky snapshot. 'And let me tell you, Jen knows all about being human. About being a girl who needs love and is so full of self doubt and insecurities she can’t find it. (Sounds familiar). And how this girl can go on — by first forgiving herself. (Still working on that).'

It's been a difficult few years for Paulina, who has had to mourn both the end of her marriage and the death of her estranged husband Ric Ocasek.
She had announced in May 2018 that they had split quietly the previous year after 28 years of marriage. Though they were divorcing, they continued to share a New York townhouse and that is where Paulina found the famed rock star dead.
A medical examiner determined that the musician died on September 15 at the age of 75 from hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease with pulmonary emphysema being a contributing factor.
Since his passing, Paulina has been incredibly open about her struggle to process her emotions about his death.

Paulina Porizkova , 56, has become the unofficial queen of body confidence, sharing photos and videos on Instagram of her honest take on beauty and aging. So naturally, she just shared a nude mirror selfie taken during her vacation in Rome.
“My hotel Eden in Rome, has, besides a beautiful room I’m staying in, this pretty happening bathroom,” she wrote in the caption. “After work and a leisurely bath, I was bored, which led to this celebration of narcissism, the naked selfie.”
Paulina said the impromptu photoshoot was basically fate. “What else was there to do? I mean, besides things like reading a good book or watching Italian TV. 😜,” she joked. “But it made me wonder what would happen if you gave a man a mirror and a camera and lots of spare time, versus a woman.” She also ended on this note: “For all of you who have a rough time with nudity, this thread will not be a safe place for you. Godspeed. 😁”
The photo showcases Paulina from all angles, looking super fit thanks to her incredibly toned butt, legs, and abs.
The comments were everything. “The butt cheek lower left corner is my favorite 🍑 🔥,” said Helena Christensen. “😳 @paulinaporizkov serving a reflection of a positive body moment,” wrote J. Alexander.
Paulina is no stranger to the naked—or nearly naked—selfie.
Paulina has been more than candid about the importance of celebrating people’s bodies as they age. “When I was in my twenties and thirties, the less I wore - the more popular I was,” she wrote on Instagram in February. “In my forties, I could walk around practically naked and illicit nothing more than a ticket for public indecency. At fifty, I am reviled for it. ‘Put on your clothes, grandma. Hungry for attention, are you? A little desperate here? You’re pathetic.’ …The only thing that is pathetic here is allowing others to set your priorities.”
She’s also opened up about not finding fitness until she was 40, telling Elle that she used to rely on “cigarettes and poor nutrition” for her supermodel body.
But, after going on Dancing with the Stars in 2007, she got inspired to start working out regularly. "I started exercising to help with my panic attacks and to get off antidepressants," she told Elle. "I found out if I worked out every day my anxiety was kept a lot at bay. And I felt better. So how great is that?"
