Günümüzde de Nevruz yemeğinde yedi çeşit tahılın kullanılması bu sayıyla ilgili geleneğin devam ettiğini göstermektedir. Nevruz sözlü ve yazılı kültürün en önemli kaynağı olmuş, başta Fars edebiyatı olmak üzere müslüman milletlerin edebiyatlarında önemli bir yer tutmuştur.
Günümüzde, Nevruz bayramını mezarlıkları ziyaret ederek oralarda düzenlenen özel kutlama etkinliklerinde bulunmaları bunun yaşayan bir örneğidir. Bu gelenek ayrıca, günümüzde çok sık rastlanan "Evliya" ziyaretlerinin de kökenini oluşturmaktadır.
Her yıl Mart ayının 21-23. günleri Nevruz Bayramı olarak kutlanmaktadır. "Yeni Gün" anlamına da gelen ve 21 Mart tarihiyle baharın başlangıcı olarak kabul edilen Nevruz, Türk dünyasının kuzeyinden güneyine, batısından doğusuna kadar uzanan engin coğrafyada yaşayan toplulukların pek çoğu tarafından yaygın olarak kutlanan bir bahar bayramıdır.
