The Part-Time Intern is responsible for day-to-day operations, administration, task management, data entry, interfacing with participants, and tracking information for the English Speaking Nation (ESN:STT and ESN:CP) programs. As a member of the American Councils Uzbekistan team, the Part-Time Intern will also be expected to support and administer daily programming. This position reports to a Program Coordinator and will also work directly with program staff in the American Councils Washington, D.C. office.

Job Responsibilities

The Part-Time Intern will work closely with the American Councils Uzbekistan office and primarily within the English Speaking Nation (ESN) program portfolio. The Intern will support programmatic implementation efforts related to teacher training and professional development for local Uzbekistan teachers. The Intern will work on a part-time basis (20-25 hours per week) for a minimum of 2 months. Scheduling and extension of the internship will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Day-to-day, the position involves:

• Implementing and executing daily task-based and administrative functions related to a wide range of programmatic needs

• Liaising, conducting participant outreach for English Speaking Nation participants, teachers, stakeholders, and program donors.

• Data and information collection, sorting, analysis, and reporting

• Planning programmatic and conference logistics – day-to-day operations and management of large scale events in Tashkent and regional cities.

• Coordinating virtual sessions via Zoom and Google Classroom for several participants and American training experts.

• Translation, reporting, and product design – external communications (emails, letters, program guides, etc.) in English, Russian, and Uzbek.

• Developing and circulate program management tools/toolkits – trackers, task lists, calendars and management software to ensure timely deliverables.

• Other duties as assigned.

Quaifications

• Currently enrolled university students (3rd – 4th year bachelor students, graduate students) with interest/background in education, education policy, project management, social sciences.

• Must speak, read and write Uzbek and/or Russian with native level proficiency / Fluency in English

• Outstanding time management, organization and planning skills

• Proactive, independent, and flexible in task management and program implementation

• Demonstrated excellence in communication and multicultural interpersonal skills

• Flexibility to occasional work on weekends and evenings

• Strong Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word); Zoom, platform experience

Compensation

THIS IS AN UNPAID TEMPORARY PART-TIME POSITION. Upon successful completion of the internship, Interns will receive a certificate and quality work references from American Councils.
