Part 4 - Red Panda Forest Park
Mr. Fulgens🇨🇳 Journey through Dujiangyan - Chapter 2
🐾 The most exciting stage lies ahead! We are approaching the very heart of the route - a face-to-face encounter with Red Pandas. This beautiful moment is one that stays in the memory forever for everyone who truly loves these amazing beings. 🌏🌿
If you missed the previous chapter of our trip to Red Panda Forest Park, be sure to check it out here:

🐼🐾 The program that allows visitors to see Red Pandas up close is called “Red Panda Behavior Desensitization Training Camp” or simply the “Feeding Experience Project.”
🌏 And this is where our truly deep immersion into the world of Red Pandas begins!
🤔 What is it about? Visitors can take part in feeding and in so-called “desensitization training” (the animal gradually becomes accustomed to the presence of humans). This makes it possible to observe Red Pandas from a very close distance, sometimes even with the opportunity to touch them under the strict supervision of staff. This, by the way, is one of the most important aspects in the ethology and psychology of Red Pandas!
🌏 Before entering the panda palace, get ready - first, everyone must thoroughly wash their hands with soap. Then you enter a small room (an antechamber). In modern Chinese centers (such as the bases in Chengdu or Dujiangyan), this works as an airlock or a disinfection barrier. (video 3)
💨 After that, a gas that is safe for humans is released to disinfect the air. This is done to remove fungal spores or microbes from clothing that may remain after contact with domestic animals (especially dogs, since canine distemper is the main enemy of pandas).
🌿 Why all this? Because Red Pandas are sensitive, cautious, and territorial beings. They react sharply to unfamiliar scents and potential threats. Any extra smell can affect their behavior, stress levels, or even their health.
🔗 I explained more about territoriality here: t.me/mrfulgens/1205
And then - right at the entrance, a park staff member hands out treats for the Red Pandas. We become part of the process: not just observers, but participants.
🍎 Like real zookeepers, we can feed them by hand. Not through glass. Not behind a fence. This is a truly living moment - direct, without barriers. And it feels as if you are inside a dream that has suddenly become reality. 🐾
📸 The most exciting part is still ahead - a very vivid moment in the life of our subscriber from Dujiangyan Park. For now, you can enjoy these wonderful shots that reveal the essence of the program!
