Cabaret shows are one of the best things to do in Paris at night: they are fun, sometimes cheeky, and, most of all, very Parisian. A cabaret show in Paris usually comes with the option of dinner and champagne, so it is also a great way to finish a memorable day in Paris.
Le Paradis Latin , one of the most iconic cabarets in Paris , invited us to watch their new cabaret show ‘L’Oiseau Paradis.’ For the new show, Le Paradis Latin decided to leave its comfort zone, and the result is something BIG! The historic cabaret has also gone through an instant makeover, which is noticed by the regulars since the moment they cross the cabaret’s doors.
Le Paradis Latin took everything to the next level to make people spend an unforgettable night in Paris. So if you plan to visit Paris for the first time , why not add the new Paradis Latin cabaret show to your Paris Bucket List?
Are you still hesitating? Here are the best reasons to book your tickets to Paradis Latin’s cabaret show right now.
Located in the Latin Quarter in Paris , Le Paradis Latin is one of the historic cabarets in Paris. Actually, Le Paradis Latin is the oldest big cabaret in the world!
Napoléon Bonaparte founded this iconic cabaret in 1802 with the name of Thêatre Latin . Soon, the place became one of the highlights of Paris at night, with clients like Dumas or Balzac.
During the Franco-Prussian War, Le Thêatre Latin was destroyed by a big fire, and Gustave Eiffel later rebuilt it for the Universal Exhibition of Paris. The engineer used the underground remains of the 13th-century Philippe-Auguste walls as the foundation for the cabaret’s metallic columns. The renovated cabaret re-opened its doors with the name of Paradis Latin in January 1889, two months before the inauguration of the Eiffel Tower . Both tourists attractions in Paris celebrated their 130th anniversary in 2019!
New Paradis Latin Cabaret turned out to be a great success, proposing its enthusiastic public different kinds of performances (‘Opérette,’ ‘Ballet,’ ‘Pantomime,’ and ‘Excentricités’).
During the 20th century, the Paris nightlife moved from Seine’s left bank to right bank, to the trendy neighborhood of Montmartre , and Le Paradis Latin was forced to close its doors. The building was purchased by a glass and earthenware creator and, years later, by a specialist in the industrial packaging of pharmaceuticals. Due to the huge economic crisis linked to WW2, the latest owner left the place unoccupied for a long time.
In 1973 the place was bought by Jean Kriegel, a real state developer who wanted to transform the property into apartments. When M. Kriegel’s workers dismantled the factory’s partitions, he found out that his new property was actually a kind of metallic cathedral, with gilts and columns and fragments of posters and scenery here and there! Seduced by the place, the once real state developer became a show businessman decided to resurrect Le Paradis Latin according to Gustave Eiffel’s original plans.
In November 1977, Le Paradis Latin Paris Cabaret was reborn from its ashes to propose its guests a memorable night with a Parisian can-can cabaret show and champagne.
Get ready for an unforgettable night! L’Oiseau Paradis is the new cabaret show created by Kamel Ouali , a famous choreographer, dancer, director, and once-in-a-lifetime talent. Kamel Ouali’s L’Oiseau Paradis is already being talked about as one of the year’s shows in Paris .
Kamel Ouali was given ‘carte blanche’ to create a new show. This was a big challenge considering that he only had two months to create the different choreographies, do the castings, rehearsals, and design new costumes.
We’re also thrilled by his choice of ravishing Ms. Mittenaere (Miss France and Miss Universe 2016) as the show’s main vedette and French Star Academy TV show winner Cyril Cinelu as lead singer. Cyril’s voice is amazing, and Iris Mittenaere is a real coup for Le Paradis Latin.
Kamel Ouali proposed a different concept from what we’re used to seeing in a Parisian cabaret. People can expect to see the French can can dance reinvented, along with frills, feathers, glitter, and much, much more. L’Oiseau Paradis is a show where new technologies also come in line: Kamel Ouali wanted the spectators to live a unique experience, and believe us, he made it!
The pre-cabaret show is another novelty of this new adventure at Le Paradis Latin. As people arrive through the famous Paradis Latin front doors, the show-before-the-show begins in the lobby where some of the actors welcome the spectators and invite them to start their experience.
At Paradis Latin, you don’t just dine; the show is everywhere, with exotic animals and dreamy creatures walking around the tables. Then, the dinner is accompanied by unique live entertainment, like a trio of cellists playing Michael Jackson on stage.
After the pre-show, there is a brief intermission, and the cabaret show begins. With L’Oiseau Paradis , Kamel’s troupe of dancers, led by ravishing Iris Mittenaere, review the classical cabaret and its famous French can can. The show includes about fifteen decors and 500 amazing costumes for the 30 artists and performances of the show.
For two hours, the L’Oiseau Paradis cabaret show is a feast for the eyes. The show has a delightful combination of song, dance, and comedy to make it appealing even to someone who is not that “into” these types of shows.
L’Oiseau Paradis is amazing and dynamic, with creative scenes such as the aquarium, the duo dancing on a bathtub (with water inside!), the hypnotic army, Pegasus flying from the sky, and the cabarets’ traditional Grande Finale.
Iris Mitenaere dances, sings, flirts with the public, and it is clear that she is having fun. Everyone is extremely talented and full of life, and the choreography and costumes both perfectly walk the line between sex appeal and staying classy.
You can book the Paradis Latin cabaret show only or combine it with one of its dinner options (different menus with different prices). Now the cabaret dinner and show comes with the ‘show-before-the-show’ bonus.
The renewed Paradis Latin is a jewel of French architecture. It was designed at the end of the 19th century by Gustave Eiffel at the same time as the Eiffel Tower. This building, listed today as a Historical Monument, is like a metallic cathedral with columns, arches, capitals, and a decoration ‘Belle Époque’ style. Above the metal balcony, there is an impressive painted dome, and it was this dome that saved the building from destruction in the 1970s.
During the last months, Le Paradis Latin has gone through some renovation works, a kind of dusting for the spectators’ pleasure and comfort. We especially liked the new bar in the mezzanine, with a decoration inspired by Klimt.
The hall’s considerable height and the metallic structure allow the artists of this particular paradise to do wonders in the air and fly over the heads of the amazed spectators: a unique show for a unique place!
Le Paradis Latin is also a paradise for food lovers. It is well known that locals like to enjoy good quality French food and the chef in Le Paradis Latin does not disappoint: different menus made with traditional and fresh produce are served to those who have chosen the Paradis Latin Paris cabaret show with dinner.
We had the Paradis Latin menu ‘Star,’ washed down with a good Bordeaux red wine and champagne wine. We both chose the smoked salmon (entry) plus duck breast and Chateaubriand (mains), and we can tell you everything was cooked to perfection and had a delicious taste. Perhaps they could do better with the meals’ presentation (a little bit of decoration on the plates), but we understand that waiters have to serve 700+ guests in a limited time frame before the show starts.
TIP: If you are vegetarian or have any kind of food allergy, just mention it when you book your dinner + show, and the kitchen will adapt the Paradis Latin menu for you.
We also missed Paradis Latin’s iconic dessert, the ‘Gourmandise’ (raspberry and vanilla ice cream) created by pastry chef Carl Marletti and available with the Prestige Menu only… next time!
Le Paradis Latin is not a money factory but a place where guests will find a warm and personalized welcome. Unlike other famous cabarets in Paris, Le Paradis Latin proposes one single show per night, so there are no long lines outside waiting to enter for the second round and after the show. There is no rush to finish that last glass of champagne!
We were spoiled with one of the best spots to watch the show, and during the dinner, everybody, from the waiters to the master of ceremonies, was as attentive as was possible and met our every single need. We even saw Kamel Ouali walking around or the owner chatting with some guests, checking by himself that everything was ok and people were having a good time.
After the show, some actors were happy to take some pictures (or make the last joke) with guests. From the moment we entered until we left, everything was great.
We were lucky to see the Paradis Latin Paris also from backstage, and we could meet some of the artists before the show. Here, artists, technicians, and waiters are like a big family where everybody has a role in the show and a common goal: make guests happy.
We had a great night out! We enjoyed good French food & wine followed by an entertaining and energetic show. Le Paradis Latin took their cabaret show to the next level, with a rebellious and innovative proposal – something between reinvented French Cabaret, Gaga’s music videos, and TV show Pose. Some of the scenes were so good that we can name them the best in the town.
I did not like the highly energetic presenter: she was not funny and barely spoke English, so I guess she was difficult to follow by the spectators who didn’t speak French. Good that Cyril, the main singer, was compensating in English, and this is just a small anecdote in a great cabaret show.
In short, we recommend L’Oiseau Paradis to anyone who wants to enjoy a fun night out in Paris! The Paradis Latin cabaret show is an amazing show that combines sound, music, light, and dreamy costumes to perfection.
Paradis Latin Show L’Oiseau Paradis starts at 21.30, and the final is at 23.00. People who book Paradis Latin Paris dinner and show arrive from 20.30 for the dinner and pre-show.

I’d love to experience a cabaret, especially in Paris. It’s really interesting that Le Paradis Latin is the oldest big cabaret in the world and was founded by Napoleon ????
You know, I never actually associated Cabaret with France and especially Paris, until I read this post. Silly really, because it’s an obvious link. I’ve only been to Paris once, and I have fond memories. But I never got to see a show, so next time I’m there I’ll be sure to give Paradis Latin a look.
I’m so glad to be introduced to your site. Love to see people from Paris showing all the great things about Paris. I love the Art Deco type places like this, such an interesting era and it truly transports you to a world of glitz and glamour gone by. This building looks phenomenal and the show looks spectacular, bookmarking for future trip to Paris.
I think a Cabaret show is one of the first things that comes to mind when thinking of Paris – right after the Eiffel tower. Although I’ve been to Paris like a hundred times, I’ve never visited one. It looks very fancy, though, and I’m surprised that there is some acrobatic to it. Always thought it was rather Cancan-ish.
Well, in Paradis Latin you have cabaret and a little bit of Gustave Eiffel 😉 Yes, most of the cabarets in Paris have the can can show and actually it was one of my favorite parts of the show, together with Christopher the birdman
We didn’t go to a cabaret show in Paris becuase there seemed to be mixed reviews about the few we knew about. But this one looks like a fantastic night out. I love how they have the tables set up with performances above and around you. Food is also a concern for us, so it’s great to know they will adapt the meal for people with allergies. Sometimes we pass on activities because we are paying a bunch of money for food we can’t eat.
Yes, it was cool to have performances above and around the spectators, it made the show more dynamic. Sorry to hear about the food. This is not the case with Le Paradis Latin because the kitchen is downstairs and they can adapt your menu if they know it in advance.
I cannot even count how many times I visited Paris yet, strangely enough, I never saw a cabaret show. Hmmm…. it will definitely change this summer. Thanks for sharing. Eva
I am sure you will have a great night out!
I’ve only had one short visit to Paris and we didn’t manage to catch a cabaret show but this makes me see what I missed. It sounds like such a cool night out!
Yes, it is! We totally recommend it 🙂
Now I want to see this show! I can’t believe with the amount of times I been to paris, I have never heard about this show (but then again, I never looked into cabaret shows). I only done Moulin Rouge, but I think on my next visit, a trip to here has to be done.
I am sure you will enjoy Paradis Latin!
I haven’t been to Paris and when I do I want to see a cabaret. This sounds like the one to go to! I love all the historic detail you’ve included. Fascinating! I had no idea that Napoleon founded it.
Yes, this is the oldest cabaret in Paris so apart from the show there is much history and grand architecture behind 🙂
We’ve been to Paris several times, but have never gone to a cabaret show. This one looks like a great alternative to the super touristy traps like Moulin Rouge. Thanks for the info, it looks fantastic!
Thanks! Perhaps next time you are in Paris? 😉
Cabarets look like so much fun! I’ve never actually been to one, and Paris looks like the perfect place to see one. I love their outfits- so fun and glamorous 🙂
Well, sometimes there is a lack of outfits but YES, this is something to try if you are in Paris! 😉

A voir absolument !!
