We have had the same problem with our Fujitsu scanner. Only way we can get paperstream to acknowledge its existence is to install the drivers first, then plug the device in. (even if we plugged it in before installing the drivers, windows couldn't recognize the device) You may want to try uninstalling the drivers and then reinstalling them, then plug the device in.
