Unusual hybrid, quite satisfying lesbian sex opus
Always experimenting, filmmaker Nica Noelle combines documentary and fiction techniques in this second volume of the WET PANTIES TRIB series. Unfortunate title seems to be a case of reverse-psychology marketing -hiding away these gems where only true aficionados will find them. Even the actresses, per a Behind the Scenes short subject, don't use the term "trib", preferring to call their pussy-to-pussy rubs "grinding". By any name, the practice is on view in several different positions, with or without the suitably drenched panties being worn. But what the lengthy (3 hour) video is really about is woman-to-woman connection. Unlike gonzo porn, one really feels the actresses emotionally bond during the slow-paced sex acts, not just hanging around on a bed to pick up a paycheck at the end of their turn. In two segments we have particularly fine acting, with Samantha Ryan quite poignant and tearful as an ex-wife visiting the woman (Natasha Nice) responsible for stealing her husband away years before. Facing up to her past and fears, Ryan breaks down, and Nice comforts her, living up to her moniker in a sensual Sapphic love scene. The other narrative vignette has Bobbi Starr going to a posh resort while her house is remodeled, she also getting divorced. In a meet cute (which I'm sure would already have been ripped off by a mainstream director had they kept up with Nica's cutting-edge porn) she ends up in bed with a lesbian (the endearing Lily LaBeau) who's also broken up with her partner, the strangers thrust together by the hotel's overbooking its suites. The other two segments of the feature consist of 12-minute interviews followed by half-hour-plus sex scenes by actresses appearing as themselves, not enacting roles. Aiden Starr is uncensored, giving great insight into her BDSM stance (helpful when watching her videos in that genre), while AC/DC talent like Gracie Glam and lesbian specialists Sinn Sage and Taylor Vixen explain their sexual preferences. The whole issue of role playing, acting and simply being yourself unfolds through these contrasting vignettes, and for me it puts the unspoken issue of "are porn actors prostitutes?" into a new perspective, given that all this is not private but recorded for ultimately millions (or at least thousands) of fans to watch in perpetuity, analogous to but not the same as the prosties hired by the stereotypical perv to perform sex acts because he "likes to watch".

Variable vignettes on this Sapphic theme
Hardly Dana Vespoli's best work, this okay series entry in which tribbing is more incidental than central to the action benefits from a fine cast. It's just that inspiration is lacking. First pairing in the Sweetheart Video regimented format of 4 sex vignettes has Sinn Sage giving prudish Aiden Ashley a sexual initiation. Certainly Sinn is perfectly cast for such a task, but the porno vaunted "chemistry" is a bit lacking between the two. Dana DeArmond is her iconic bossy self in dealing with supposedly unitiated would-be lesbian Celeste Star, quite a stretch for fans who know (and love) Celeste as one of the all-time lesbian superstars. This amounts to suspension of disbelief time, but Dana saves the day with such off-the-cuff quips as ordering Celeste: "Be less bubbly!" and ending the scene with a perfect improv declaration of success. Jessie Andrews with her hair piled up in a strange 'do is nearly unrecognizable in her stimulating match-up with a less glamorized than usual Anikka Albrite. But the final vignette is clearly the best, via inspired casting of two redheads (highly unusual in porn), as veteran Justine Joli makes the most of a dream teaming with the delightful Karlie Montana. Both actresses have sustained unusual longevity in the industry, that typically runs through young starlets in a year or two, and fans inevitably needing to sample this summit meeting.

Dana Vespoli wisely keeps the title tribbing to a minimum - just presenting to the viewer the sight of rubbing in each vignette before escalating to the desired XXX content. Emphasis is on youth, with schoolgirls and cheerleaders interacting. Final segment has Dana in a cameo as mom, catching her daughter and a classmate (Courtney Shea and Miley May) in the act of sex in the bedroom.
