Hello dear Steemians! Pulau Pangkor is a beautiful island located in Perak, Malaysia. By the way, 'pulau' is a Malay word which means 'island'. About 2 weeks in prior to our trip, I booked a family room in Sandy Beach Resort for three days and two nights and paid my deposit. It is one of the best resorts on the island and that's where my family and I stayed. My family and I live in Kuala Lumpur. So, we started our journey to Perak early in the morning so that we will be able to check in at the right time. The check in time given to us was 3. We reached quite early and had enough time to visit a few places in Perak like Bagan Dato and some shops before having our lunch. After having lunch, we went ahead to the ferry terminal area in Lumut. We parked our car in a parking lot that was opposite the Ferry Terminal. Then, we took our bags and luggage and went to the Lumut Ferry Terminal and boarded a ferry to Pulau Pangkor. This is how the ferry looks like. It is not the same ferry but it is similar to this. I snapped this picture on a different trip to Pulau Pangkor. This is a wefie of my mom and I, and my brother behind us : My father sat behind him, well it is because we all wanted the window seat except my mom. We got down at the Ferry Terminal of Pulau Pangkor. There are no taxis on the island. However, there are pink vans that function like taxis. So, we took a 'pink van' and traveled to our resort. This is the entrance of the resort where we stayed during our vacation. We didn't expect it to be as good as it was on the inside. This is our family room. I will make a separate post on Sandy Beach Resort with a review on their facilities, a room tour and a resort tour as well. This is a large swimming pool which is the view from our room. If we walk towards the right, there will be a garden, a restaurant and the beach. I will post and explain more about them on a separate post. This is a snap of the garden in the resort. It smelled so good every time we walked past it. After a short while of checking into our room, we headed to the beach! It was so beautiful and peaceful. I loved the sound of the waves. After about an hour, we went back to our resort, showered and got freshened up to go for dinner. It was nearby in a walking distance. It is a well known seafood restaurant and if you want to be served within 30 minutes, you need to call and book your table because the number of their customers is high. This was snapped on the next day in the morning. We took a stroll on the beach after having our breakfast while watching the sea waves. We walked along the sea shore towards the edge. The girl in the picture is me and that is my dad at the back. My brother got there first, so he snapped a picture of us. That is my mom walking towards the edge of the beach. There are some large stones that look unique. This is a closer view of the stone structures. Some people have written their names and lovey dovey notes on them. This is a real hornbill. I was so excited and amazed by how large it was. This was the first time I saw one so closely. I went for a swim in the pool in the evening. The picture above was snapped later on in the same evening when I went to watch the waves of the sea. They were larger than they were during the daytime and it was getting stormy. I got a relaxing massage that night and then went to bed. The next morning, I was told by my family that it started raining heavily with lightning and thunder late night. However, it seems like I slept deeply like a dead log because I don't remember waking up to any thunder sounds at all. The video above is my Pulau Pangkor Travel Vlog. Do check it out if you like. You might enjoy the sound of the sea waves and see what I saw throughout my entire trip, including strolling on the beach and watching the unique bird, hornbill. This was one of the best vacations I have ever had and I can't wait to go back again. I am hoping to go there this year. If you would like to see more posts from me, follow me. Stay tuned!
