The world of adult film parodies is fascinating. With every blockbuster film, there seems to come a flesh-heavy doppleganger from the adult entertainment industry. They have been labeled cheap, opportunistic and well, any other negative thing you can say about the porn business.
But there’s something interesting that’s happened over the last 5 years or so in the world of porn parodies. They’ve become considerably better movies. As their popularity has grown, so have their budgets. And filmmakers like Axel Braun, whose films grace the Wicked Pictures Parody imprint, have made a splash throwing explicit sex into everything from 24 to Barbarella to Batman v Superman.
Braun’s latest venture is perhaps the most interesting. There’s an inherent weirdness to making a porn version of Peter Pan, especially because much of the movie involves a world in which children live and never grow up. I’m almost certain that Peter Pan XXX: An Axel Braun Parody will include some dialogue along the lines of, “Oh Wendy, in Neverland, we can be 18 forever!” Beyond this somewhat unsettling, easily explained-away age situation, Braun’s latest also appears to be his most cinematic. It’s also worth noting, for those pop culture savvy across the pond readers, that the role of Pan will be played by Ryan Ryder, whose real name is Craig Chalmers. Prior to trying his hand in porn, Chalmers was a contestant on BBC’s “Any Dream Will Do” and landed the lead in the touring musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” (Donny Osmond had that role in the US version). He performed in 10 shows a week for three years with great success, before deciding to try a career in porn. He was scheduled to play Prince Charming in the musical “Cinderella” when the producers found out he had done a porn scene and fired him.

Extras: The DVD case was wrapped in a cardboard sleeve that opened like a book to provide additional pictures. The first disc included the movie as well as some trailers. The second disc began with a non-sex version of the movie lasting 33:40 minutes, with 41:56 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage that began with Riley Steele in makeup and some special effect shots, a photogallery, some trailers, and a company promotional reel. There were also three unrelated bonus scenes from previous endeavors including Aiden Ashley & Ryan Keely in L.A. Lesbians for 16:28 minutes, Keira Nicole & Aspen Ora in Corruption of a Babysitter for 10:38 minutes, and a 18:37 minute scene between Riley Steele & Ryan Driller from Snow White XXX. While it would have been great to have director cuts of the sex scenes from this movie, longer BTS footage, and things of that nature, this was a pretty decent package of extras overall.
Audio/Video Quality: Peter Pan XXX was shot in anamorphic widescreen by director Axel Braun for Wicked Pictures, his new distributor. This is the fourth in the new “Wicked Fairy Tales” line, using director of photography Axel (videography handled by Marc Weston and Mac Swell), costume designer September Dawn, art direction by Maxwell G., and Axel’s wife joining him and Claudia Ross as editors to make the show look good given the porn sized budget. Like some of Axel’s best looking parody titles, this one had more effort put into it, the colors saturated to a vibrant state and the framing of the shots helping to make everything look better, the editing enhancing the end product. There was no continuous company watermark and it looked very good. The aural components by Brother Goat as sound technician were similarly handled, blending the crisp vocals with the appealing music and occasional ambient sound to give it added depth. The 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo track appeared to be added in post production as there was no obvious separation in channels but it did not weaken the overall end product.
Body of Review: Axel Braun is a director distributed by Wicked Pictures these days, his biggest personal claim to fame being his parody work. His latest title is the newly released, double disc Peter Pan XXX: An Axel Braun Parody, Axel basing the title on the Walt Disney version of the story rather the recent abortion of a production called “Pan” I watched the other day with a friend. While some question the whole idea of pornifying children’s fairy tales, others like myself think that what better way to find a broad audience than to add sexual elements for an adult audience to re-imagine such stories? This time, Axel brings us to a future version of his popular characters where Wendy (Keira Nicole) is stuck in a loveless marriage, Captain Hook (Steven St. Croix) has captured Tinkerbell (Riley Steele), and the Lost Boys have become pirates as Peter Pan (Ryan Ryder) enlists Wendy’s assistance to restore things as they were, some sexual antics included. I’ll right off that the low budget production tried to cover too much territory with the limited feature elements and porn level acting but Steven, Ryan, and Riley all looked their parts and fans of the cast and parodies will find this worth checking out.

Scene One: Keira Nicole, the fetching blond hotty featured on the top middle of the front cover (in the blue dress), was up first with Ryan Ryder who portrayed the titular character a bit too well. From the prosthetic ears to the costuming, Ryan was as close to an adult version of the animated elf as you will find, the adult version seeking some fun as he and Keira got frisky in her bedroom. Summary: Peter Pan XXX by director Axel Braun for Wicked Pictures looked crisp and clear, followed the basic tenants of the original story, and had a cast of cute women at least as sexy as any other volume of the Wicked Pictures fractured fairy tale series to merit a rating of Recommended. Sure, the story elements were light since the primary purpose of the entertainment as a porno was for spank bank material but considering how wacky the recent Pan movie was this past week, at least the characters were recognizable in Axel’s version of Peter Pan XXX and who would argue that lovely little Riley Steele was not the embodiment of Tinkerbell to any red blooded, straight male? Check it out if you like parodies and don’t expect too much from it as light entertainment but there were many cute touches here worth exploring, the success of the Wicked Fairy Tales line continues.
