First off, a quick google search will tell you that a padparadscha is rare and greatly prized and sought after. But in Steven Universe, a padparadscha is an off color sapphire that can only predict the past, completely missing the point of a sapphire. My question is, how far back can she see into the past. In The Answer, Garnet says that Sapphire had seen her whole life laid out before her, and had accepted all of it. A gem lives until it is shattered, and that can be a very very [insert a lot of "very"s here] long time. So Sapphire has seen into the future for let's just say 10,000 years. If Padparadscha can see into the past around the same time, she could hypothetically see who shattered Pink Diamond, how aquamarine became the best, and other stuff. Or maybe she went crazy deep underground of seeing the same thing over and over into what she thought was the future. Either way, something very interesting to think about. Padparadscha fanart anyone?
Steven Universe also says that a Ruby and a Sapphire can fuse to make a Garnet. So I wouldn't say it's the most reliable source for real information.
But they stated Padparadscha can only see into the recent past. So she probably can't see 10,000 years ago.
The exact words were, "Padparadscha can only predict things that just happened." I think the hiatus is making it hard to remember what's in the show and what the fans came up with, because I've seen this same line of thinking about Paddy's super past vision several times.

But is she an off-colour Sapphire or an off-colour Padparadscha?
Maybe her defect is that she doesn't look into the past far enough.

In Steven Universe , at least one padparadscha sapphire is only able to predict the past. We don't know that all padparadscha sapphires are defective; it may be the case that they're just a variety of sapphire, much like amethysts and jaspers are varieties of quartz soldiers.
But wouldn't she be able to see only events she has spectated herself? That would be the same as remembering.
...a Sapphire has a use she can tell you what it's for...
A Padparadscha is, in this context, a different type of Sapphire and especially (relating her Types Name) a special Kind of Gem.
It could be Possible that Padparadscha Sapphires were not used to predict the Future but instead were used to investigate the Past.
Since Gem-Kind has enveloped far beyond the point their own possible History Padparadscha Sapphires are, maybe, obsolete and not longer needed.
I may bring the Fusion Statues (yes, one can see the two Gemstones involved in them) that are located closer to Homeworlds Surface back into your minds.
Also there are Statues of Fusions visible in "the Sea Spire"... Padparadschas could have woked as or for historicans or Gem-Archeologists... since Gem-Kind is more expansionist / militarised there could be just no need for them.
If a Gem does not fulfill a Purpose or does not fit its Role... they are of no use to the Diamonds...

That's called a possessive apostrophe buddy, and why you gotta be so snarky? Be nice to people with different ideas or opinions as you, and maybe they'll be nice back. Everyone is allowed to speculate and we don't have all the answers. Get off your high horse.

Perfect. A spontaneous fusion of love, as impossible as it was inevitable. Even I could not have guessed it. Steven is capable of fusing with human beings. I could not be prouder of Steven and Connie.
Stevonnie is taller than Amethyst and Pearl but is a few inches shorter than Garnet. They have an average/athletic build consisting of Connie's slim figure with Steven's chubby and stocky features, curly black hair that reaches to their thighs, and a complexion slightly darker than Steven's. They are also barefooted. As seen in "Jungle Moon", they can also grow facial hair, a trait acquired from Steven. Rebecca Sugar and Ian Jones-Quartey have stated that Steven and Connie's "ages combine" when they form Stevonnie and that Stevonnie can grow more facial hair than Steven due to being biologically older. [1] Stevonnie is considered to be very physically attractive by both male and female citizens of Beach City as they seem to be in awe of their appearance.

Since Stevonnie is a fusion of two beings with physical bodies, their outfit upon forming is prone to constant change. All of these outfits can be seen here . From "Lars of the Stars" to "Escapism", their hair goes just past their shoulders, due to Connie cutting her hair into a chin-length bob before the events of " Kevin Party " and is always tied up into a ponytail. As of "Bismuth Casual" due to Connie's hair regrowth to shoulder-length during the post-fifth season timeskip, their hair is now chest-length.

Stevonnie's personality is unique. As a fusion, they do not have a single, distinct personality, but instead, have a blend of both Connie's and Steven's minds, and they frequently alternate in their control of Stevonnie's behavior and thoughts. They carry the free spirit, friendliness, and fun-loving attitude of Steven and the courtesy, awkwardness, and intelligence of Connie. During their fight with Jasper in " Crack the Whip ", Stevonnie shows courage and determination to protect Amethyst from Jasper and to defeat her, inherited from both Connie and Steven.

Like Garnet, Stevonnie is an exceptionally stable fusion, mirroring how well Steven and Connie work together unfused. This stability is notably demonstrated in "Jungle Moon", in which Stevonnie easily remains fused for a few days.

When under pressure, Connie's and Steven's personalities may become more distinct, as when Stevonnie unintentionally became the center of attention at the rave party, they suddenly became nervous and had a panic attack, something that can be traced back to Connie rather than Steven. During the first half of "Beach City Drift", Stevonnie was shown to be rather obsessive about getting back at Kevin . This trait could be inherited from Steven, because of how much anger he had towards Kevin. However, near the end, Stevonnie seems to be more carefree, simply ignoring Kevin's remarks and attempts to get their attention. It also shows that Stevonnie possesses Connie's practicality along with Steven's sentimentalism as they argue over eating the beaked alien .

In "Alone Together", Steven begins to talk to Connie about his attempts to work on his fusion dance with the Gems. Connie tells Steven that she is impressed that he can dance with the Gems at all, admitting that she does not like to dance in front of other people. This prompts him to ask her to dance, stating that it is only the two of them. They begin to dance together, eventually getting more comfortable with each other. Steven suddenly trips over Connie, and she catches him. They laugh and touch foreheads while Steven's gem begins to glow.

Once the glow fades, they wake up, and wonders why their (Steven's) sandals do not fit. As they get up, Steven and Connie, inside of them, begin panicking and rejoicing at the same time. Eventually, they find resolve in rejoicing their fusion. They then decide to tell the Gems. When they do, the Gems are dumbstruck and Pearl immediately starts to worry, saying that fusing with humans is an impossible feat. Amethyst points to a delighted Garnet and runs up to the fusion. She asks them how they feel, naming them "Stevonnie". Garnet goes up to Stevonnie, and tells them that they are an experience and to have fun being one.

Stevonnie runs toward Beach City, and they decide to get donuts. Inside, Sadie and Lars see Stevonnie, and they are both left breathless by their beauty. Stevonnie asks for two donuts, which Lars brings up. When they try to pay, Sadie tells them "It's on the house." Stevonnie gratefully accepts the donuts but reminds the two of the gesture not being a sound business practice on their way out. Stevonnie goes to a bench and pulls out the donuts. Connie's and Steven's personalities begin to bubble up, and Steven asks Connie if she wants to stop being fused with him. Connie is about to answer when Sour Cream comes by and gives Stevonnie an invitation to a party he is DJ-ing. Stevonnie accepts the
