PS5 DualSense Edge Controller Is PlayStation's Take On The Xbox Elite

The DualSense Edge is a new, high-performance controller for PlayStation 5 that will be coming out soon. The first time people saw the controller was at Gamescom Opening Night Live, where a cool trailer showed some of its features. The DualSense Edge looks a lot like a regular DualSense controller, with the same colors and lighting effects. But it also seems to be a little bit thicker.

Sony gave more information about the pro controller in a PlayStation Blog post that went along with the news. It will have fully remappable buttons, settings for stick sensitivity and dead zones, and settings for trigger sensitivity and dead zones. It has a built-in Fn button that lets you change settings like game volume and chat balance and switch between control profiles quickly. You can change the stick caps and back buttons with the ones that come with the game, and you can even buy full replacements for the stick modules. Plus, it still has all of the usual DualSense features, such as haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

The DualSense Edge will come with a USB-C cable and a carrying case that can hold all of the controller's parts. The case is also made so that the cable can be used to charge the phone while it is in the case.

With these features, it's about the same as the Xbox Elite series of controllers, which offer a high-end experience for a high-end price. There have been pro-like controllers for PlayStation made by other companies, but this will be the first one made by Sony. There was no price or date given.

Sony's answer to the Xbox Elite controller is the PS5 DualSense Edge.

Sony has shown off the PS5 DualSense Edge wireless controller, a high-end, fully customizable gamepad in the style of the Xbox Elite series.

A short trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live gave a quick look at what to expect from the controller, and in an official blog post, PlayStation gave a lot more information.

The controller lets you change the way your controls work, fine-tune the sensitivity and dead zones of your sticks, and change how far your triggers move. You'll be able to save multiple controller profiles, which will let you make settings for games like action games or racing games.

The DualSense Edge comes with three types of stick caps: standard, high dome, and low dome. It also comes with two sets of back paddles that can be used to hit any other button on the controller. A user interface on the controller will make it easy to switch control profiles or change the volume without having to go through the PS5 menus.

Sony says that more information will be released "in the coming months" about the price and the date of release.

There have been rumors about a PS5 Pro controller for a long time, and many of the features from those rumors seem to be in the real Edge controller. Microsoft's Elite controller series has been a popular choice for Xbox players, so it's great to see Sony finally offer something similar for PS5 owners.
