• With trusted third-party AI service providers — specifically Google (Gemini API) and OpenAI — solely to process your photos and generate AI-enhanced images as described in Section 6

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Security of Your Information

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Photos are stored using encrypted cloud storage with signed, time-limited access URLs.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy or as required by law. Specifically for Face Data and photos:

• Temporary upload data is automatically deleted within 10 minutes of upload completion.
• Original and processed photos are retained in cloud storage until you manually delete them within the app or request account deletion.
• When photos are sent to third-party AI providers (Google Gemini, OpenAI) for processing, they are transmitted transiently and are not retained by those providers beyond the processing session, in accordance with their respective data usage policies.

6. AI and Automated Processing

MIYA uses third-party artificial intelligence services to process your uploaded images, including photos containing Face Data. The AI providers we use are:

• Google Gemini API — used for AI image generation. Your photo and a text prompt describing the desired style are sent to Google's Gemini API. Google processes the image and returns a generated result. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Gemini API Terms of Service.
• OpenAI API — used for AI image editing. Your photo, a segmentation mask, and a text prompt are sent to OpenAI's image editing API. OpenAI processes the image and returns the edited result. OpenAI's use of this data is governed by OpenAI's Terms of Use.

We do not use your Face Data or photos for any purpose other than providing you with AI-enhanced images. No facial recognition, biometric identification, or facial geometry mapping is performed. Photos are processed as general images to apply styling, background adjustments, and formatting.

7. Face Data

This section provides specific details about how we handle photos containing facial imagery ("Face Data"):

• Collection: We collect Face Data when you upload a photo through the app. This includes the full photograph, which may contain your face.
• Use: Face Data is used exclusively to generate AI-enhanced document-style photos, create in-app thumbnail previews, and deliver the processed result to you. We do not perform facial recognition or extract biometric identifiers.
• Sharing: Face Data is shared with Google (Gemini API) and OpenAI solely for the purpose of AI image processing. No personal information (name, email, account data) is sent alongside your photos. These providers process images transiently and do not retain your Face Data beyond the processing session.
• Storage: Your photos are stored on secure cloud storage (S3-compatible object storage) with signed, time-limited access URLs. Database records are stored in encrypted databases.
• Retention: Face Data is retained until you delete it through the app or request account deletion by contacting us. Temporary processing data is automatically deleted within 10 minutes.
• Deletion: You may delete your photos at any time within the app. You may also request complete account and data deletion by contacting us at info@coverly.com.

8. Your Choices

You may:

• Access and update your personal information via your account settings
• Delete your photos at any time within the app
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us
• Opt-out of promotional communications

9. Children's Privacy

MIYA is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13.

10. Third-Party Links

Our Services may include links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these third-party services.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy on our app. Your continued use of MIYA after any changes indicates acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
