The prices in Ukraine are relatably low. The national currency, hryvnia (UAH), is the only legal currency for payments. You can pay by your credit card for many services (except student canteens, markets, coffee points, transport etc.), but keep your cash, going to the city. In 2018 Kyiv topped the list of the world’s cheapest travel destinations.
CRIMINAL
Despite the restless situation in Ukrainian East, Kyiv is a safe city, it is not dangerous to walk along Kyiv. There was not an act of terrorism in Kyiv ever. But we do not recommend walking at night in the dark districts.
ECOLOGY
Despite some effects of the Chernobyl Disaster, nowadays Kyiv is an ecologically safe city. With a great number of parks, forests, and squares, Kyiv is very green and blossoming. In 2017 Kyiv was identified as the greenest city in Europe (within cities with more than 2 million inhabitants).
