Primitive Pentecostals view the letter of 2 Corinthians as an expression of God’s glory and as a reminder for all believers to embrace the power of the Holy Spirit and to rely on that power to overcome in life and in times of difficulty. The passage highlights the need for us to rely upon the Spirit and to be guided by the Spirit in our everyday lives. Paul also makes clear that in order to truly experience and appreciate the glory of God, we must acknowledge the truth of God’s word and follow it in our daily lives. 

The book of 2 Corinthians speaks to believers of all ages and reminds us that there is a common bond among all believers which will lead us to salvation. It is through the gifts of the Holy Spirit that this bond of trust will endure, as Paul reminds us of the transformative power of the Spirit when believers come together in worship. Paul also heavily emphasizes that without discerning the power of the Holy Spirit, there is no hope of true spiritual growth and no path to spiritual understanding. 

In addition to serving as a reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit, the letter of 2 Corinthians also serves to remind believers of the grace of God. It is a reminder that in our fallen state we are all sinners but God’s grace is available to us through Jesus Christ. In the same way, it serves as a reminder that even in our greatest darkness that God never abandons us.
