Lho trovato complesso e profondo senza però risultare pesante. La storia è molto intrigante e trova spunto, almeno in parte, da un fatto di cronaca realmente avvenuto e cioè il massacro di Columbine, avvenuto il 20 aprile 1999 (se non avete presente il fatto o volete avere qualche informazione in più vi lascio QUI il collegamento alla pagina di Wikipedia). Il racconto è incentrato su Riley che ogni mattina si sveglia e rivive lo stesso giorno, il 18 giugno, e non è un giorno qualunque, perchè si conclude sempre nella stessa maniera: Riley e i suoi amici vanno ad una festa per la fine della scuola e lì qualcuno inizia a sparare e ad uccidere i presenti.In poche pagine il racconto riesce a cambiare diverse volte le prospettive con cui Riley guarda a quello che le sta succedendo. La ragazza vuole capire chi vuole morti lei e i suoi amici, vuole capire il perchè, vuole fermarlo. Contemporaneamente però rivede anche il suo rapporto con la madre e soprattutto con il padre, un artista che lha abbandonata da piccola: da uniniziale, e comprensibile, ostilità durante il ripetersi delle giornate Riley capisce di avere realmente il bisogno di riavvicinarsi al padre e di avere una spiegazione per la sua lontananza.Non potevano mancare ovviamente tematiche come lamicizia e lamore, toccate con semplicità e timidezza, ma che con il passare delle pagine assumono sempre maggior spessore fino alla svolta finale che le porta al centro della storia in maniera assolutamente inattesa e scioccante.Vengono toccate tantissime tematiche e presentate tante sfaccettature di queste nonostante le poche pagine. Lo stile magari è ancora un po acerbo, ma ho apprezzato molto le frasi breve e nette che danno una struttura veloce e forse un po dura ad una storia sicuramente importante.Che altro dire? Bhè a mio parere questo romanzo merita sicuramente una vetrina perchè merita di essere letto!!
