Alicia SilverstoneAlicia Silverstone ( ə-LEE-see-ə; born October 4, 1976) is an American actress. She made her film debut in the thriller The Crush (1993), earning the 1994 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance, and gained further prominence as a teen idol when she appeared in the music videos for Aerosmith's songs "Cryin'", "Amazing" and "Crazy". She went on to star as Cher Horowitz in the teen comedy film Clueless (1995), which earned her a multi-million-dollar deal with Columbia Pictures. In 1997, she starred in the superhero film Batman & Robin, playing Batgirl. Silverstone received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy for her role in the short-lived NBC series Miss Match (2003). She has continued to act in film and television and on stage. A vegan, Silverstone has endorsed PETA activities and published two cookbooks: The Kind Diet (2009) and The Kind Mama (2014).

NBC logoThe National Broadcasting Company (NBC) has used several corporate logos over the course of its history. The first logo was used in 1926 when the radio network began operations. Its most famous logo, the peacock, was first used in 1956 to highlight the network's color programming. While it has been in use in one form or another for all but four years since then, the peacock did not become part of NBC's main logo until 1979 and did not universally become the network's sole logo until the fall of 1988 (although the peacock as the sole logo was unveiled in 1986). The logos were designed by employees of NBC, rather than by an advertising agency. The first logo incorporated design from then-parent company RCA, and was a unique logo not related to the NBC radio network. Recent logos have been themed for different holidays during the year (such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, St. Patrick's Day, Valentine's Day, and New Year's Day), in observance of its upcoming or ongoing broadcasts of the Olympics, as well as an American flag-themed logo following the September 11 attacks. The logo has been adapted for color television and high definition as technology has advanced. As NBC acquired other television channels, the logo branding was adopted to other networks including: CNBC, NBCSN, MSNBC, Golf Channel, and NBC Sports Regional Networks. The logo was also incorporated into the corporate emblem of the network's parent company, NBCUniversal, then became a part of a redesigned Comcast mark at the end of 2012 after it was acquired by the latter a year before.

Pink PeacockPink Peacock (Yiddish: די ראָזעווע פּאַווע, Di Rozeve Pave) was a café and infoshop in the Govanhill area of Glasgow. Described by its founders as "anti-Zionist" and "the only queer Yiddish anarchist vegan pay-what-you-can café in the world", it opened physically in 2021, after being delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and announced its closure in June 2023. The owners plan to reopen in Brooklyn's Crown Heights neighborhood in mid-2025.

Daloy PolitseyDaloy Politsey (Yiddish: דאַלוי פּאָליציי, lit. 'Down with [the] Police'), also known as In Ale Gasn (Yiddish: אין אַלע גאַסן, lit. 'In Every Street') is a Yiddish-language anti-authoritarian protest song. The modern commonly known & recorded version of the song is actually a combination of two different protest songs from the late 19th and early 20th century Russian Empire; Hey Hey Daloy Politsey and In Ale Gasn respectively. The modern song was recorded in 1972 by the Yiddish Youth Ensemble (Susan Finesilver, Betty Glaser, Judy Gottlieb, Khane Kliger, Moishe Mlotek, Moishe Rosenfeld, Dina Schwartzman, Josh Waletzky; Musical Director: Zalmen Mlotek) on their album of Yiddish Songs of Work and Struggle (1972, vinyl). The recording later appeared in the soundtrack for the documentary film Free Voice of Labor: The Jewish Anarchists. As such the song is often rendered as In Ale Gasn/Daloy Politsey to highlight this combination. The two songs were historically associated with the Bundist movement (although none of the lyrics are explicitly Bundist) along with the Jewish anarchist movement. The two songs were sung during the Russian revolutions as a rallying cry for Revolutionary Socialist and Anarchist Jews.
