Perth LynxThe Perth Lynx are an Australian professional basketball team based in Perth, Western Australia. The Lynx compete in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) and play their home games at both Bendat Basketball Centre and Perth High Performance Centre. For sponsorship reasons, they are known as the Northern Star Resources Perth Lynx. The Lynx were established in 1988 as the Perth Breakers. After being owned and operated by Basketball Western Australia from 2001 to 2015, the Perth Wildcats took over ownership and operation of the team for a period of five years. In 2020, the licence was transferred back to Basketball Western Australia. In 2024, the licence was transferred to Sports Entertainment Group's sporting teams business, SEN Teams. The Lynx have reached six WNBL Grand Finals, winning their only championship in 1992.

Jackie YoungJacquelyn Young (born September 16, 1997) is an American professional basketball player for the Las Vegas Aces of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She is the daughter of Linda Young and David Wayne Edwards, Sr. She was drafted first overall by the Las Vegas Aces in the 2019 WNBA draft. A graduate of Princeton Community High School, she played college basketball for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, reaching two NCAA finals and winning one in 2018. She won a gold medal in Women's 3x3 basketball at the 2020 Summer Olympics and a national WNBA championship in 2022. In 2024, she won the gold medal in 5x5 basketball at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Marina MabreyMarina Mabrey (born September 14, 1996) is an American professional basketball player for the Connecticut Sun of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Mabrey was drafted in the second round (19th pick overall) by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2019 WNBA draft. She previously played with the United States women's national under-19 basketball team and the University of Notre Dame. Mabrey was traded to the Dallas Wings in 2020. She has played internationally in Latvia (TTT Riga), Israel (Bnot Hertzeliya), Australia (Perth Lynx), Italy (PF Schio), and Turkey (Çukurova Basketbol). She also played in the inaugural season of Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 league developed by WNBA players Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier; however, Mabrey was sidelined for all but 3 games of the Unrivaled season due to a calf injury.

2024–25 WNBL seasonThe 2024–25 WNBL season was the 45th season of the competition since its establishment in 1981. The Southside Flyers were the defending champions, but they failed to qualify for Finals this season. The Bendigo Spirit won their third championship title after defeating Townsville, 2–0 in the Grand Final series. Cygnett remains as the WNBL's naming rights partner for the season, after signing a three-year deal in September 2022. In August 2024, the season structure was confirmed to again feature an 84-game regular season, with a best-of-three Semi-Final & Grand Final series' to follow. All games were confirmed to again be broadcast via 9Now and ESPN, for the third consecutive season. This season saw the WNBL's return to free-to-air television for the first time since 2019, with the addition of one game broadcast weekly on 9Go!.
