Ideas, Inspiration, and Giveaways for Teachers
It’s easy to support these amazing side hustles.
Let’s be clear: teachers should not have to have a side hustle to make ends meet. But that said, we’re all about supporting teachers who have pursuits that they are passionate about. Here are 15 teacher-owned businesses that we adore—check them out!
Tiffany Rubin, middle school teacher, creates beautiful c ustom tapestries for the classroom. Create a positive classroom environment with one her bestsellers: “Everyone is Welcome Here”, “It’s a beautiful day to learn something new”, and “Stay Positive.” Her shop also has a great inventory of funny stickers that speak to the life of a teacher.
Em Jones, a Canadian middle school teacher, crafts unique handmade clay polymer earrings that are like inside jokes for teachers. Shown above, animal and plant cells. Perfect for a science teacher. Also in her collection— Space, Fungi and even Pumpkin Spice Latte.
Carlanda Williams, middle school teacher, is out to spread her magic to other educators. She leads PD sessions on engagement strategies and also offers one-on-one coaching. Oh, and she makes killer earrings too!
Iowa teacher Liz is all about helping others build an intentional, joyful mindset. Shop her boutique for inspirational tees, her Joy Bar journal, or subscribe to Joy Mail. For just $4 a month, you (or someone you love) will receive a hand-written, personalized note filled with inspiration and encouragement.
Lucy Mugford crafts bright, happy pom-pom earrings that offer the perfect pop of color and personality for your look. And each order comes adorably packaged with a sticker and a sweet calling card (see above). Our personal favorite? It’s a tie between the Leopard Print and the Party Pom-Poms.
Chayse Romero, Spanish teacher, silversmith and jewelry designer creates beautiful custom nature-inspired jewelry. Working with stones and metal, Frontera’s stunning designs include earrings, bracelets, necklaces, hat pins, boleros and more.
Danielle Chastain Harper, kindergarten teacher, creates whimsical vinyl stickers that offer encouraging words for teachers. Among our favorites: Mindset is Everything, Our Class is a Family and Work Hard, Dream Big. Also, check out her awesome instagram at aloha.kindergarten .
Middle school teacher Peggy Arbuthnot has what might be the ideal side hustle- hosting wine parties with her ‘traveling vineyard’ for groups in their home. From reds and whites to sweet & fizzy, Wine Guide Peggy can set you up with everything from individual bottles to seasonal collections.
Art teacher Kristen B. creates unique handmade home goods using clay and cloth. We love her paintings, but also check out her ceramics, baby quilts, cloth napkins and more. Each piece reflects her motto: Make Your Home a Haven.
Teachers and sisters Jackie and Jamelle fell in love with macrame and decided to open a shop to share their hand-crafts with others. Each item is handcrafted using natural materials. From wall hangings and key chains to plant hangers and more, you’ll definitely find something you love.
This Arizona teacher/shop owner is a self-proclaimed Target addict and mother to two boys. She creates fashionable masks, headbands, tees and more with the mission of making teachers “smile and feel good while doing one of the hardest jobs out there”.
Special ed teacher Tiffany lives by the motto “Love wins!”. Her shop includes unique buttons, tees, mugs and more just for teachers. We especially love her “Teachers Slay” collection.
Teacher Ariele Arrowood has created adorable, encouraging ‘happy mail’ for teachers to send to their students. Included in her inventory are whimsical notecards and notepads, invitations and to-do notepads.
Looking for a unique gift for your bestie or teacher partner? Check out teacher Brittney Nguyen’s Handmade Goods. Stocked with fun, hip t-shirts, stickers, can coolers, gift boxes and more, many with slightly irreverent sayings, you’re sure to find the perfect thing.
Lauren Ashley, third-grade teacher, creates beautiful hand-lettered works. Her portfolio includes wall, home, nursery and seasonal decor as well as engagement and wedding announcements. Our favorites are her works on natural grain wood for the home.
