Heyy AA, I know this isn't anime, but it's yaoi, and yaoi is pretty hawt.
If you aren't familiar with the game Overwatch, then I highly recommend you watching some game plays, the cinematic trailers, as well as reading up on the characters on Wikipedia.
Overwatch is one of the very popular first person fighting games in 2016 currently. The game itself consists on 2 teams competing with each other, either escorting payloads to a destination, and/or securing an area, both with time limits.
There are 6 team mates in each team, and all the players have a choice of character categorization.

In each team, you should have one of each type of character, your goal is to complete the task, if it's either securing a point, or escorting the payload. Each character has two special abilities (as well as others depending on your character), punches, as well as an ultimate (super ability).
Hanzo Shimada is one of the defense/snipers, his weapon is a bow and arrow, he has 200 health, and he has the abilities to wall climb, scatter arrow, see other players through walls.
His ultimate is a special ability that only a Shimada can use, dragons. He shoots an arrow directed to his enemies, and the two dragons 'consume' them and then end up killing them if they are in range.
Some physical features about him is that he has a tattoo of dragons on his left shoulder down to his left hand, his normal clothing is a kimono, exposing half of his chest and all of his inked arm. He has a his hair up in a bun tied with a ribbon. He has a beard as well as a sake container hanging off his waist. (sake is Asian alcohol).
Hanzo is 38, his ethnicity is Japanese, his base of operation is Hanamura, Japan, he has one other brother, Genji Shimada.
Jesse McCree is an offense character, he has a colt Python pistol, and has 200 health. Some special abilities are stun, combat roll, and deadeye.
When he combat rolls to quickly avoided losing health, it also reloads his gun, deadeye quickly fires all 6 bullets to a near by enemy.
His ultimate locks onto enemies and kills all of the locked on targets with one shot.
Physical features of McCree are, he wears a cowboy hat, has a red cape, robotic left arm, gun holder, ammunition holder, belt, long brown hair, and long beard.
Hanzo is 37, and American, who's operation base is in New Mexico, America.

Well I'm going to start by just saying how does "angsty samurai and smooth talking chill cowboy" not sound like the setup for a damn fine romance novel. There isn't any character interactions connecting these two at the moment, but their personalities and stories really make them for like puzzle pieces.
So I really encourage you, if you're interested in the characters and fandom of McHanzo, read about their past stories!
If you want you can watch Hanzo's cinematic trailer, unfortunately McCree doesn't have one currently, or any one that I know of.
Anyways, why McHanzo is so cannon, is that yes, their pasts were very grim, but really their personalities are just so 'beautiful and manly'. Once you enter the fandom completely and just get slapped in the face with some McHanzo, you'll see that they're fresher than fabreeze.

The first two characters you meet when you play Overwatch are Soldier: 76 and Tracer - and now both of them have been revealed as LGBT.
Soldier: 76 is the latest to have been confirmed as gay in a short story by Michael Chu , the lead writer for the online game.
He's one of the most popular characters in the online shooter, which has millions of players worldwide.
Tracer, who players meet alongside Soldier: 76 in the game's tutorial, was confirmed as a gay character in 2016.
Ed Nightingale, a gay gamer from London, hopes representing a "very macho, typically masculine character" as LGBT will help promote acceptance of LGBT people in other gamers.
"Gaming is a really powerful way of educating people," he tells Radio 1 Newsbeat.
"When you're playing through a game and not just watching or reading it, you are actively involved in it and therefore actively involved in a character that is so different from yourself - that has really great educational benefits."
In late 2018, a group of gamers were given a permanent ban from Fallout 76 after they were filmed "hunting" LGBT gamers and using homophobic language on voice chat while playing.
And since the newest digital comic was published, homophobic slurs have been posted on social media regarding Soldier: 76's newly revealed sexuality.
Ed says incidents like these are why LGBT representation in mainstream games like Overwatch is important.
"People want to play games online and they want it to be a safe space, and I think gaming is typically seen as the domain of straight white men and anyone outside of that norm is unfortunately vulnerable to attack.
"It's really sad that these things happen, but online, on social media, on Reddit, these things sadly do continue."
Many players have celebrated Soldier: 76's news, but others think revealing him as LGBT nearly three years after the game's release feels like an afterthought.
Just found out that Overwatch has confirmed that Soldier 76 is gay. Would have liked it when it was announced much early in it's release, years ago. It just feels like an after thought rather than a genuine push for queer representation in games.
"Is it too much to expect a developer to have thought through their character from the very beginning?" Ed says.
One person pointed out on Twitter that publisher Blizzard Entertainment may have been hinting at Soldier: 76's sexuality since 2016.

The sexuality of Overwatch characters is only explored in comic books and doesn't impact on gameplay, so Soldier: 76 being LGBT will likely pass by casual players who just want to grab a controller and shoot things.
And while Blizzard has been praised for the inclusive approach to their creations, the company was criticised in 2018 when developers introduced a hamster in a giant ball as a playable character before a black woman was available to play.
