How Moira's old tentacle design would've worked if it got implemented
Subreddit for all things Overwatch™, the team-based shooter from Blizzard Entertainment.
The early concept art of Moira shows her with tentacles attached to her back. It was said that it didn't go through because blizzard didn't know how to make them work
Here's my speculation on how it would've been if it became her actual design
Her backstory would change. Rather than being interested in reaching the full potential of humanity through science she'd be more interested in how using cybernetics to their maximum potential would allow humans to bypass their weaknesses and do things a regular human would never be able to. Regardless of methods and morals. hence the tentacles on her back that could be used for both building and destruction.
Animations for healing and damaging would change. When right-clicking her right tentacle would latch on the enemy sucking their energy away and into the machine on her back. with a visual indicator that you have a tentacle latched on you kind of like Sombra's lines when hacking. Healing would be the left tentacle spraying healing energy similar to how her hand does now.
Animation for her fade and ult would change. Her fade would probably cause her to walk on her tentacles like Doc Ock for a few seconds increasing her speed and mobility, probably allowing her to wall climb too Idk. Her ultimate would come out of her hand through the machine but all four tentacles would carry her during it, justifying the movement speed increase.
Orbs would most likely come out of her lower tentacles as it does with her hands now.
Her conflict with Mercy will be a lot different. Mercy would oppose the idea of researching too much into cybernetics or else the world could end up being a more violent place since evil will always exist and use her research in negative ways. Moira would probably defend it stating that Mercy also uses a form of cybernetics or rather attachments aka her wings. Using that to manipulate her during their interactions
Her making Reape would probably not work with this version of Moira so Mercy accidentally causing the birth of the Reaper would make more sense and be interesting since it shows her having flaws for a change.
Her skins would be really really dope looking if done correctly.
She'd have a lot more rule 34 drawings
What do you think ? have any other ideas?
I can imagine being able to heal a nearby hero and deal damage to an enemy with tentacles at the same time

You guys, Blizzard, my honey baby darling, you almost had it right. You almost gave Moria™ tentacle arms, it was in her concept art. And you didn’t.
It’s common industry knowledge in the industry that every superhero game has to have the tentacle arm individual, and I detect a DISTINCT lack of tenticular arms in this game. How is one supposed to grab people by the head and swing them around?
Team 4, I am on my hands and knees begging you to complete this game by adding the wacky armed hero of ALL our dreams

Honestly, they really should give Moira her tentacles for OW2.
The poor woman has to heal an entire organization (the vast majority of which are incompetent bots) by herself after all.
Oh boy, I know some artists who would love to revitalize their Overwatch careers.
I’ll only accept a tentacle hero when we get a SpongeBob crossover and Squidward is our guy.
That Moira concept art is so cool. Even if they never get used on another hero, they should be added to Moira if she’s ever a boss or something in PvE. That would be cool.

I’m pretty sure D.Va is a space tentacle monster that’s just using her appearance to pass for a regular human; while having a world domination agenda in the background.
Just wait for Overwatch 3’s Story Mode you guys will see, won’t say more until then.
Thought I’d post this before this thread goes too far down the hamster hole.
I am not into tentacles, but we need a doc Ock looking character in Overwatch.
His weapon would be like brigitte’s wip, where he uses a tentacle to wip the enemies.
His secondary fire would be a charge push with his other tentacle
His E would shoot a Laser or something
His shift would let him jump and stay attached to a wall.
His Ultimate would be like Rockus from Paladins, where his speed is decreased, but can shoot rockets that deal massive damages

Moira, redhead scientist, with (metal)tentacles, would be like a twin to “Carolyn Trainer”, a female version of Doctor Octopus in the Spider-Man comics.
