You better be more careful when a baby D.Va's around. There's more chance that she'll squish you ... [+] when she calls in her mech
Blizzard has rolled out its latest Overwatch balance patch. The update includes almost all of the changes that were tested in the most recent Experimental card .
Calling in D.Va’s mech causes way more damage to unfortunate souls in the immediate vicinity: 250, up from 50. It is an ultimate after all, so it should probably cause a decent amount of damage. It’s also, you know, a heavy mech falling on you. The move could make staggering a baby D.Va a riskier proposition if she can quickly build up to the Call Mech ult.
Among the other changes are to Baptiste’s healing secondary fire (you’ll want to land direct hits on allies for more healing output) and immortality field, which will only keep teammates alive with a minimum of 10% of their health intact, down from 20%. The tweaks are a bit of a nerf overall, and follow suggestions made for he recent Experimental Card Tournament.
Reinhardt and Echo have also been nerfed. The main tank has less overall health after an armor reduction of 50, while Echo will exit her ultimate with either the same health she had before activating Duplicate, or 100 health (whichever is higher). Previously Echo’s full health pool was restored after transforming back into her own body.
The patch also includes buffs for Orisa and Moira, who have shorter cooldowns on Halt! and Biotic Orb respectively, as well as Roadhog, who will chunk out more damage per pellet of his scrap gun.
Sombra will move even faster while she’s invisible. However, Blizzard decided not to move forward with a change that allows her to move in and out of her Stealth ability more quickly.
This Overwatch balance patch is now live in the full game. It’ll be at least a few weeks before these changes arrive in the Overwatch League, but I’ll be disappointed if they force teams to stick with the same few heroes and move away from the flexibility they showed in week 1 of the 2021 season.
Here are the full Overwatch patch notes for the live game for April 22nd, along with Blizzard’s developer comments:
Developer comments: We are reducing Immortality Field's minimum health threshold and Baptiste's area-of-effect healing output as they were providing too much value overall for closely grouped teams. However, direct impacts with the healing grenade projectiles will now grant additional healing to the impacted ally to keep his single target healing effective, with a slightly higher skill requirement.
Developer comments: D.Va's respawn is often intentionally delayed by the enemy team if she is the last player alive from her team and without her mech. This change will make it more dangerous to be near the Call Mech arrival area for low health heroes.
Developer comments: This is a change picked up from the Community Experimental card. Since Echo gains an additional health pool through using her Duplicate ultimate, it seemed reasonable that she doesn't need to be healed to full upon it ending as well. The minimum health value is there so she doesn't instantly die to a small amount of damage when it ends, as often with a long duration ultimate it can be difficult to remember her starting health.
Developer comments: Moira has been underperforming in the support role even in team compositions and metas where we’d expect her to excel. Reducing the cooldown of Biotic Orb is a significant increase in Moira's potential to quickly adapt to many situations.
Developer comments: We're reevaluating the cooldown for Orisa's 'Halt!' ability after previous changes have reduced its effectiveness to combo with other heroes. We'll keep a close eye on whether the increased frequency of this displacement ability ends up being too disruptive to gameplay.
Developer comments: Reinhardt has been overperforming since his last round of changes. To help increase tank diversity we are reverting his armor to its previous value while keeping the Rocket Hammer damage increase for now as it helps to balance out the reduced crowd control duration of Earthshatter.
Developer comments: Roadhog is a hero who has been underperforming lately with not much changing about him since late last year when he had a more dominant presence, though the balance of other heroes has indeed shifted around. We're partially reverting the reduction to his damage to help bring him back up to a more effective level.
Scrap Gun (Primary and Secondary Fire)
Developer comments: Sombra's gameplay usually involves a lot of time waiting for opportune moments to strike and using the Translocator to disengage at a safe distance. Speeding up her movement in Stealth should help get her back into the action more quickly.

What do you think?
Has there ever been an official response and/or confirmation to whether Magic exists in it or not?
no, there is no magic. Everything that looks magical are either nanobots, biotic tech or hard light.
no, there is no magic. Everything that looks magical are either nanobots, biotic tech or hard light.
Well that goes into the fundamental subjectivity of the Magic’s definition.
Star Wars introduced midichlorians through the prequels, which was basically the scientific explanation of what the Force is, but I’d argue the Force still has a very religious and magical presence in that universe.
While I do not subscribe to this belief;
There are fan-theories that say, the Shimada family at a certain age receive a Nano-bite Tattoo that enables them to control Hardlight Dragons, and thats what allows their use of them.
Assuming the theory above is confirmed to be true at any point, chances are the Dragons in those stories are merely tales of a fantasy. Myths.
While there may not be magick (wha? I feel old-fashioned) per se, there are likely things out there that cannot be explained within the current methodology.

I’m sensing a disturbance in star wars lore from this post.

Everything is science, but i still dont know how hanzo can summon a dragon , and why only the shimada can do it.
Personally I believe its something spiritual among their family. Arguably magical, super-natural at the least.
No magic, all technology. Even though we don’t know the full extend of the technology involved in Overwatch’s lore, everything within it is due to some technological advancements that they have.
there is magic and there is hogwarts

and there is another one i know of and that i couldnt find a video for it.
There is no magic in he overwatch universe. Though ingame there is stuff that is not really represented in lore and are there for game balancing or other game stuff like how Reaper used to pick up souls from the ground for example.
I’d like to believe its something utterly spiritual, like its his pure will alone enabling him to float. However I would not be surprised what so ever if it came out as simply being “Omnic Magnetic Propulsion”
