Overwatch Pve
Blizzard Entertainment Overwatch has had Halloween themed content in the past, but this concept is on another level.
Blizzard Some of Echo’s early abilities may have made the character even more powerful.
Sometimes the options available in Overwatch just aren’t enough for players, with one putting together an epic glitched PVE mode that will actually scare you straight.
The popular multiplayer game from Blizzard Entertainment is constantly evolving. It actually hosts a number of themed events depending on the season, with Halloween always one that impresses the online gaming community.
While the developer’s plans for the scariest night of the year are yet to be revealed, one player has given us a taste of what could come.
They have created their own player vs. environment game mode, where a glitch moves so fast you don’t know what to expect from one moment to the next.
The Overwatch player base is well known as one of the most creative out there. Everything from detailed cosplays to fan art, it could be argued that this community tops the charts by a good distance.
On August 30, one more insane fan concept was revealed. It’s like nothing we’ve ever seen before, and it has even been given a name, ‘GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM.’
“I made a glitch-themed PvE HORROR game mode with A.I. monsters in Workshop!” the creator said in a Reddit thread.
The full trailer for the mode can be seen below, courtesy of Therister .
This is the type of thing that will really show you what you are made of. A number of in-game glitch animations appear regularly to throw off each hero involved, including pop-up messages that say “I’m here.”
It was put together using Overwatch’s Workshop tool, and the designer has even released more specific info on how it should be played. They posted: “This is GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM, a game mode where you have to find ten purple orbs to escape, all the while avoiding glitchy Sombra bots who relentlessly chase you down wherever you go using dynamically generated pathfinding.
“There are over 150 possible orb locations, ensuring every playthrough feels equally as helpless and stressful. The game gets increasingly terrifying as you collect more orbs, with glitched Sombra’s spawning more frequently and you seeing/hearing more and more hallucinations over time.”
This one might be built for four people to play at one time, but would you dare jumping in alone?
One artistically talented Overwatch fan has rendered and animated a brand-new ability for Echo based on early Blizzard concept art for the hero.
Echo was the last new hero to be introduced until Overwatch 2, and she’s definitely popular thanks to the massive amount of firepower she’s packing.
Not satisfied with her current loadout though, 3D animator and Overwatch fan @Jupiiit decided to flesh out the idea from early Blizzard ideas that had her using her two back wings like boomerangs.
There apparently were a few abilities that used the Omnic’s wings as projectiles, that would return after they went out and dealt damage. The downside of them just being on paper though is we’ve never got to see them in action, until now.
Jupit posted a super-clean animation on January 31 that shows a first-person perspective of Echo throwing out her wings as boomerangs then returning to her, dealing damage along the way.
If Echo’s wings had been given more functionality with a damage ability, it wouldn’t be hard to see it looking pretty similar to this. Maybe to keep it from being OP the comeback damage would only happen if enemies are in a certain range between Echo and the initial target.
How much damage they would or should do is also up for debate, but there’s no denying it would be a completely unique move in Overwatch.

Also, there’s nothing to say we couldn’t see Echo get something like this when Overwatch 2 comes out, which will have new and upgradeable moves for every hero.
As an added bonus, if it were in the sequel’s new PvE mode, it wouldn’t need to be as tightly balanced as it would if it were put in for PvP, since we’d be fighting NPCs and not other players.
Overwatch fans have clearly begun taking new content matters into their own hands, which is understandable with no real updates or news on Overwatch 2 since it was announced in 2019. Thankfully BlizzCon 2021 is right on the horizon, and the promise of the big sequel news we’ve all been waiting for.

Little to late for my liking, them and activation can go to hell.
Blizzard is also expected to announce "Diablo 4" at the show. And most likely Diablo 2 Remaster. Which I'm looking forward to.
By supporting China over Hong Kong, Blizzard wont be getting a cent from me.
There is only one thing which matters for Blizzard and Activision and that is money.
They chose money over freedom so they can eat poop.
It will be interesting to see what dominates the news. Blitzchung support or the new announcements.
Intentional hype to raise the profile of this year's BlizzCon because they want to make up for the total disaster that happened last year.
AsRock Little to late for my liking, them and activation can go to hell. go get em pal ..
I never liked Overwatch 1, felt like I was constrained in that FPS for some reason, like it was just a notch too slow or plain for my liking. Currently enjoying Fortnite, so I will pass.

Overwatch came out 3 years ago. For comparison, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came out in 2012, PUBG came out in 2017, Rainbow Six: Siege came out in 2015, Fortnite came out in 2017, Destiny 2 came out in 2017, Team Fortress 2 came out in 2007. For a pay 2 play competitive FPS filled with microtransactions, that's a very short life span.
unluckymsk Another brainwashed guy. How is that being brainwashed? That's literally what they did. It's not a conspiracy or a made up event. Go back to your hole.
Wait people still give a damn about blizzard/activision?
Allegedly. Presumably. According to rumors.

Not enough of these, @btarunr . By reading the title and the content, it seems like nothing significant happened here at TPU recently. Please ease on displaying rumors and assumptions as facts, pretty please.

:shadedshu: I've quoted not one, but two sources. Please read the news from the front page for the source links.

:shadedshu: While a link to the report would be nice to say the least, they are basically just saying what ESPN ESports is claiming. (EDIT like there is on the main page, so no problem there either)
X is going to happen, according to Y.

That is literally what you are suggesting should be done...and it is....
Oh whoopdee, 1 new hero and a PVE mode. Which is, hardly any different than what they are doing with OW now. So literally Blizz is renaming an expansion pack for OW1 into OW2 and probably charging full price for it...

If they don't do something really groundbreaking with it or revisit the original idea for OW which was an MMO, then there is next to no point. Just release it as an expansion.

And if they are going to do a Rio map, I sure hope they at least get the rivers full of fecal matter, used needles everywhere, and walking STD factories right.
Diablo 4 and Overwatch 2? thats actually the first ive heard of this. ive only just bought Overwatch a few weeks ago since it was finally at a price I can afford.
blizzard or bethesda.. if i were to choose i'd pick blizzard.
fallout 76 - hella messy game and now charging subscription on a game that's still have alot of bugs.
diablo3 - log in issues day 1, hardest mode unplayable, real money auction house was... interesting.

Least blizzard put in the efforts to patch up their games added new lore and content to diablo3.
Based on this my money is on blizzard, but i will be keeping a close watch on the d4 and ow2 progress if its not any good I definitely will pass.

Totally I'd actually argue that it's long-lived. By normally standards, you might be right but this is Activision we're discussing here, still trying to work out in my head how you disregarded that fact, with yearly Call of Duties. You're right. I still think of Blizzard as a company that made Diablo, SC and WC, not a faceless conglomerate that shits out the same regurgitated garbage each year. My mistake.

They chose money over freedom so they can eat poop. This is coming from a russian, communist, themed M&M avatar. Seems legit.
Adding a "2" after the title to accompany one additional character and a game mode seems really shortsighted. Even if that type of update was delivered in free patch, burning the branding of "Overwatch 2" for such an event is stupid from a marketing standpoint. They must be in some dire straits if they are willing to risk annoying a dedicated player-base and lose out on the future income that could have been generated by a real Overwatch sequel several years from now.

All of this makes me worried for Warcraft 3: Reforged. That's the first Blizzard game in years and the complete lack of updates is concerning. I'm just waiting to hear how they plan to destroy it with microtransactions, skins, removing modding, etc...
CrAsHnBuRnXp This is coming from a russian, communist, themed M&M avatar. Seems legit. Blizzard punished Blitzchung because they are capitalist pig blinded by chinese bourgeois cash. Who else will fight for our freedom against chains of capitalist oppression than good old communist comrade M&M that indisputably also taste very good when eaten.
For the people!
For freedom!!
I am still waiting for a Lan mode for Starcraft II.

Since that didn't happen, i never took a look at Blizzard from that point on.
I didn't even notice that had their on Games Com or E3 thing :D
