This is called MMR — or Matchmaking Rating. In Overwatch it was easier to figure this out, all you had to do was go into your Career Profile and it would be there. However, in the sequel, it may be a little harder. This begs the question: how to check your MMR in Overwatch 2 — Is it possible? This guide should make this a lot clearer for you.

Matchmaking in Stadium Like other game modes, Stadium still uses player MMR's to make matches. However, unlike Overwatch 's core modes, Stadium rank isn't tied directly to MMR. Instead, MMR serves as a "goalpost" toward which players can climb as they play more Stadium matches.

The baselines are from overwatch 1, so if they changed the MMR limits I guess this might be obsolete. If you played OW1 these are probably obvious, but just to make sure we have all the info in one post.

A: In Overwatch 2, your MMR adjustment after every match is not impacted by your performance in each match (regardless of your skill tier). This is for a few reasons.

In Overwatch specifically, MMR can be different from SR. SR is the Season Skill Rating which is the visible score, such as Plat, Gold, etc. Edit: corrected SR from Season to Skill - thanks u/romansparta99 for keeping me honest!
I really understood how MMR worked in the original Overwatch, but are there are any details on how it works now in Overwatch 2? Have we heard anything about the specifics or changes from how it worked previously?

Is Overwatch 2 hard MMR reset? However, Blizzard is not resetting the MMR for the main team-based Competitive and Quick Play modes, which is something that many fans have been requesting for a long time.

Your MMR is determined by your performance and wins. This means it will fluctuate from match to match, impacted by how you do. It tries to be as accurate as possible, reflecting your activity. The MMR rating is inspired from Chess ELO rating and is basically a ladder that show with number your ability to perform in a game. His variation is a factor based on your Win / Rate against other player and MMR level.

I understand that rank and hiddem mmr are two seperate things. But how does the game determine your hidden mmr? What rank it thinks you belong in? Are there algorithms in place that determine the positioning and game awareness of a player and correlates this information to a rank? Does it go by average accuracy or average deaths, KDA, etc? I'm really curious to know.
MMR is determined by your role, the approximate skill you have based on your wins, losses, and opponents, and how well the rest of the Overwatch player base is doing when compared to you.
