We might see more of Kitty in the next few months. She was France's support during the World Cup, after being selected by Blizzard as a ladder player and voted in the team by the community. She's looking for a team, as evidenced by this tweet she sent yesterday.
I do think she has her shot, as she's now a recognizable name, with the appeal of the future Overwatch league. She's been a rather impressive Ana for team France during the tournament, showing far less weaknesses and variations in level than co-support AlphaCast, for her first dip into pro-level play. She seems to be a disciplined player, with a very calculated style of play. She was crucial in helping France overcome the odds and reach the quarterfinals of the competition.
P.S/Acknoledgment: Yes, she's trans. Could we not go on about this? It seems irrelevant.
Definitely held her own against top tier players, gl to her
She did win player of the game, it was pretty impressive.
Mickalow showed the most. And oh, man, the twitch chat...
Yeah, France got super lucky with our non-pro players, both her and Micka got shit done. She was more discreet than him, but just as efficient I thought. Maybe more disciplined as well. Don't get me wrong, Micka's Rhein was fantastic, but a bit prone to go flashy (which is alternatively great and very bad).
As for the Twitch chat...Let's not go there --'
Sounds awesome to me. I think it'd be really cool to see someone get a career based on the world cup.
Kitty, Mickalow, Pescanova, Tseini, hell... even ster. There are a bunch of free agents from the World Cup that could possibly go pro. Maybe they could form a team? Pescanova and Tseini would be the most sought after of the group, and if they all did team up someone would have to role-switch to DPS, but it could work.
(I know you know this, so I'm not like trying to inform you or anything)
Tseini was already pro though (Luminosity). He's more like Gods, Grego, Iddqd, etc than the "personalities" who could potentially go pro off world cup exposure.
I do not get why people shit talk ster, the guy is litterally top 500 lol. Same with HuK, guy was rank 82 last season, he was top 500 and people shit talked him too lol.
Met her once at Blizzcon by accident.
But she seems like a really down to earth person. Would definitely be excited to see her get involved in the professional scene :)
okay, since we're on the subject....
Was it me or did the French team pretty much ignore her in all team videos (if she was even present).
I don't think so, she actually said in an interview that the team has been very supportive of her.
My best guess is that she's been trying to go under the radar a bit (maybe precisely to avoid attention regarding her gender identity) and that they obliged.
EDIT: Truth is much simpler (content logically focused on pros and better known members of the team). Refer to Kitty's answer below.
Heya ~ Just to let ya know that there was no tension between me and my teammates, I hope it didn't seem that way D:!
I didn't ask for me to be cut out or anything like that, I guess some takes were simply better than others :)
Regarding interviews they mostly focused on Alphacast who's the most popular french content creator and the pro players, which make sense, Mickalow wasn't interviewed either :D.
I didn't ask to be hidden at all and it made more sense for others to be put forward, I don't want to be interviewed just because I'm a girl ~
In a french interviews she talks about how everybody was very supportive on the team and that she was surprised at the level of support, so no.
Seems like she's the one that didn't want the attention, which makes sense given the still male voice and features. People who want to switch typically are very uncomfortable with their body before the switch happens.
She seemed alright. Not much to go on with only the World Cup though, does she stream?
