Brigitte is getting her best skin ever for Overwatch Halloween Terror 2021
It’s been a few months since the last Overwatch event and a lot has happened in this corner of the gaming universe since then. Still, the Halloween Terror event is now live , and there are a bunch of new skins to get your hands on. Team 4 has been killing it when it comes to new skins for quite some time, and the latest batch is no exception.
There are eight new skins for Overwatch Halloween Terror this year. Five of them are Legendary skins you can buy for 3,000 credits if you aren’t lucky enough to see them drop in a loot box. You’ll need to play a bunch of games to earn the three Epic skins.
Let’s start, as always, with the skins Blizzard revealed in the days leading up to the event.
Reinhardt's Halloween Terror Draugr skin is actually kind of terrifying.
The first Legendary skin Blizzard revealed for this event is kind of a banger. Draugr Reinhardt calls to mind the kinds of enemies you’d run into in God of War or Skyrim . It’s a rad look, and one that should dovetail nicely with his zombie walk emote.
Echo is getting another Overwatch Halloween Terror skin, and it's another terrific one.
The incredibly creepy Ragdoll Echo skin that was a challenge reward during last year’s Halloween Terror event is an all-time top-five Overwatch look in my book. Even if Blizzard wasn’t quite able to top that this time around, it came dang close with the Vampire Bat skin.
The skin blends gothic and futuristic styles with a black and red color scheme, bat wings and Echo’s red face positioned inside the bat’s mouth. It’s eerie, and a cool look for the game’s most recent hero.
If you’re gonna have a new vampire skin, you ought to have a fresh vampire slayer one, right? And we got just that with this killer new skin for Brigitte. It’s probably her best skin ever and easily my favorite of this year’s batch. I’m not sure the designers needed to create a skin that generated this much online thirst already, but I’m glad they did.
From the coffin-shaped shield with a skull on it (she has skulls everywhere, actually) to the eerie white hair and green flail, Team 4 hit it out of the park with this one. This will be a year-round Brig skin for me. It’s that good.
Lúcio gets a menacing goat-themed look for Halloween Terror with his Satyr skin.
Depending on the mythology, a satyr can be a man with a horse’s ears and tail, or a being with a boat’s ears, horns, tail and legs. Team 4 opted for the latter Roman interpretation for the newest Lúcio skin. The red eyes and other details give him a menacing vibe.
Bastion looks like it has just risen from the dead with its latest Overwatch Halloween Terror skin
Come for Bastion looking as though it just busted out of a coffin with a zombie hand, stay for a skeleton version of Ganymede. Thumbs up from me.
Want the other three skins? You’ll need to play a bunch of Overwatch games during the next few weeks. If you miss out, you might never have a chance to unlock these skins again.
You have to play 27 games of Overwatch across Competitive, Quick Play and Arcade modes during each week-long period to snag the respective skin. Winning a game counts for double. Play nine games in each period and you’ll get a spray that ties in with the respective skin. After 18 games, you’ll get a player icon.
Genji's getting a slick skeleton look for the Overwatch Halloween Terror event.
This one’s fun! I’m getting a mix of Día de los Muertos and (oddly) Batman Forever vibes from this Skeleton Genji skin. I dig it, though.
Zarya joins the heroes who are getting a new Halloween Terror Overwatch skin this year.
I have to admit, I did not know what “Einherjar” was before I read the name alongside Zarya’s new skin, so to Wikipedia we go :
“In Norse mythology, the einherjar are those who have died in battle and are brought to Valhalla by valkyries. In Valhalla, the einherjar eat their fill of the nightly-resurrecting beast Sæhrímnir, and valkyries bring them mead.”
That’s some dope lore, but I don’t really get the connection based on this image. It looks like Zarya’s about to brave a Siberian winter with her guns out. Nevertheless, I am a Zarya fan and I will be unlocking this skin for my collection.
Oh no, why did Roadhog have to get a clown skin for the Overwatch Halloween Event?
I hate clowns. I really do. I guess this is a cool skin, even though I hate it. ( It , on the other hand, is a good movie.)
The 2021 edition of Overwatch Halloween Terror runs until November 2.

The Mission
Our sole mission is to help gamers play their best — at every level, in every game.

The Overwatch Halloween Terror Event is arguably the one seasonal event that Blizzard fans love more than most. Whether that’s because of the season in question, or the spooky skins, we can’t say; we think it might have something to do with the PvE brawl modes that players get to experience. Either way, we should see the event return once again this year, and if you read on we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the Overwatch 2022 Halloween Terror event.
In short, a celebration of all things Halloween, but more broadly it introduces a co-operative PvE brawl mode called ‘Junkenstein’s Revenge’. Essentially players take control of either Ana, Hanzo, McCree or Soldier:76 and defend the castle from an army of zomnics as well as several boss type characters. Beyond this, players also get a spooky makeover of the Hollywood and Eichenwalde multiplayer maps.
Blizzard usually releases the event at the same time each year, which makes it easy to work out when the event could start in 2022. You can take a look at the table below to see the dates for when the event has previously started and ended. As you can see, the event has traditionally started in early October every year, normally on a Tuesday.
With all this information at our disposal, we suspect that the Overwatch Halloween Terror Event will start on October 11, 2022 . As for a start time, typically Overwatch events begin at around 2pm ET/6pm GMT . For now, this hasn’t been confirmed as official by Blizzard, so take this prediction with a pinch of salt for the time being.
With every new Overwatch event Blizzard typically adds a variety of new cosmetics for players to collect, including sprays, emotes, victory poses and of course, brand new hero skins.
Whilst players love every cosmetic item, it’s the skins that fans desire most of all. Traditionally we see a handful of new legendary skins released for the event, together with a few epic skins which can be acquired by in-game weekly challenges.
As well as the new skins on offer, players can also unlock older event skins released in past years, and normally they’re available at a knock-down price. At the time of writing, there have been 54 skins released for the Overwatch Halloween Terror event and we can’t wait to see how many more get added in 2022.
That’s everything you need to know about the Overwatch Halloween Terror event in 2022, but make sure to bookmark this page and return as we’ll update it with the latest info as it becomes available.

The date for 2021's "Halloween Terror" event in Overwatch has been revealed and, as per the annual traditional, it will be introducing a variety of spooky skins for players to unlock.
For those who are not familiar with Halloween Terror it started in 2016 and has taken place every October since . Each year, Blizzard's first-person shooter gets a horror-themed revamp for the duration of this event, complete with special cosmetic rewards and the return of the "Junkenstien's Revenge" mode.
It is one of the most popular occasions in the entire Overwatch calendar, as fans eagerly look forward to sporting new looks for all their favourite characters. For instance, last year's Halloween Terror event saw Winston metamorphose into a feral werewolf, Sigma cosplaying as the nautical spirit of the Flying Dutchman, and D.Va's mech being turned into a classic haunted house.
Blizzard Entertainment has finally confirmed some details for 2021's Halloween celebration and has even teased a few of the upcoming skins. Here is everything that you need to know.
According to a post from the official Overwatch Twitter account, this year's Halloween Terror event will kick off on Tuesday, October 12.
It will last until November 2, meaning that you have precisely 3 weeks to participate in the various challenges and to unlock all the limited rewards. This 21-day timeframe is consistent with previous years, which ran for the same duration.
While there is no confirmed start or end time for the event, it is worth noting that, when it comes to Overwatch , these things normally begin at around 1 p.m. ET.
As always, there will be several unique skins to unlock during the Halloween Terror event.
Based on early promotional tweets, we know that Roadhog will be getting a Pennywise the Clown style makeover. His signature gasmask has been painted with a rictus grin and his silver hair has been dyed bright red. Meanwhile, the tank hero's stomach tattoo will display the image of a maniacal jester, accompanied by chilling text that reads "Smile".
Elsewhere, Reinhardt will be getting a Draugr skin, modelled after the undead creatures of Norse legend. The costume can be seen in all its haunting glory in the below tweet.

There will presumably be more skins announced in the lead up to the event.
Once Halloween Terror has formally begun, you will be able to unlock the cosmetic rewards by either completing weekly challenges (that are yet to launch), spending credits on limited-time loot boxes, by just playing a requisite number of online matches.
This has been the case in previous years, including the 2020 Halloween Terror event . More specific details about the unlock criteria (including the price of any special loot boxes, the weekly challenge list, and the amount of games you have to play) will be revealed on October 12, but the basic principles will remain the same.
In addition to the new skins, Halloween Terror will also see the return of the Junkenstein's Revenge Player versus Environment (PvE) mode, in which gamers must work as a team to fend off a horde of Zomnic robots.
Overwatch is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.

Overwatch Halloween Terror 2021 has begun, running from October 12 to November 2, 2021. To celebrate Halloween, players will be able to hop into Junkenstein's Revenge mode, earn weekly rewards, and play to earn Terror Loot Boxes. This year's new Halloween skins include Roadhog's 'Clown', Bastion's 'Coffin', Reinhardt's 'Draugr', and more. A brief clip towards the end of the trailer also hints at the Overwatch Winter Wonderland seasonal event, which should arrive later this year.
