Two Average Gamers in PCPlayStationXbox
We’re talking about the ladies who play Overwatch.
In our circle, there are 4 gamer girls who play Blizzard’s team-based first-person shooting phenomenon. 
We asked our friends and family to fill out a short survey to get a sense of how some ladies think about the game. We asked them to answer as comprehensively as they felt necessary for each question. 
To protect their identities we’ll refer to them as GamerGirl 1-4.
GamerGirl 1: Wow. I don’t think I remember exactly. I am just pretty sure the group I game with online were talking about getting it and so I got it for PC.
GamerGirl 3: I was visiting my sister and brother-in-law and they were playing on their Xbox One’s. I was immediately interested!
GG1: At the time, I loved playing Mercy, Lucio, D.Va, and Roadhog. Usually when I game, if there is an option to play a female character I will choose it. Overwatch was great cause it gave you lots of options. So even though I was definitely not the best with D.Va, I couldn’t help but want to play her. I was better with the other characters though and it turns out I was a pretty effective support healer. I loved swooping in and saving a teammate at the last moment. But with Lucio, who doesn’t love knocking over someone into the pit in Ilios. (I hope its Ilios. I haven’t played in awhile) And the one hit attack with Roadhog’s chain helped my utter crappy ability to aim. I know they nerfed it since. I forgot Widow. Loved playing Widow and the fact you can snipe and pull out an Auto in close range.
GG3: Orisa – I’ve developed a good rhythm of always keeping my shield up, pulling opponents to a position when they are trying to sneak past, and fortifying when my shield goes down. Orisa is the only tank I play. 
Junkrat – I love being able to launch explosives from a distance and laying traps for the enemies. He is great at quickly taking down shields and turrets 
Soldier 76 – I like being able to attack, defend myself, and heal myself (Especially when heals are lacking from the healers). His ult is probably my favorite of the game. 
Lucio & Moira – Moira has actually become my preferred healer, but I still often times play Lucio because of his area coverage. People don’t seem to understand that Moira’s “healing powder” (as I call it) is finite. So spamming “I need healing” when I have no powder or orbs left isn’t helpful. Lucio’s ult can also be a life saver end game. Moira’s orbs are awesome and I like being able to throw an orb to heal while I attack opponents.
GG4: Mei, Symmetra, Sombra, Zenyatta, Lucio
GG1: Tracer is a big one. I think her ability to go back in time just would confuse the crap out of me and probably made me dizzy. Reinhart, cause I hate being slow and trying to turn the corner with that dude would just drive me crazy. Roadhog was slow too, but the chain helped close that distance for you. 
GG3: Not so much that I avoid, but I just have my preferred characters. I have no interested in playing certain characters such as Genji, Winston, or Doomfist. I have briefly tried Widowmaker, Reinhardt, Brigitte, and Pharah and would like to eventually develop them further.
GG1: Never played competitive before
World of Warcraft (3 – GG 2, 3 & 4)

Diablo (2 – GG 3 & 4)

NOPE! lol (1 – GG1)

GG3: I am not exactly sure, but I know what I would NOT want is another sniper. I am tired of being on teams with Ana , Ashe, Widow, and Hanzo and then 1 DPS and 1 tank. Enough with the snipers!
GG3: I wish they hadn’t nerfed Torb – he used to be one of my favorites. Now his turret sucks and gets destroyed within seconds. His new ult is cool but he’s practically useless now. Also, it would be nice if the skins in loot boxes correlated to the heroes you actually used. I probably have a billion Winston skins that I will never need, but only a few Lucio or Junkrat ones.
There are some really awesome gamer girls who consistently rank highly in comp. Unfortunately, the Overwatch League launched without a single female gamer on a roster.
Best known for beasting people with DPS character, Barcode is often seen on stream as McCree and Widowmaker. Her accuracy is incredible and she’s has great callouts in team fights.
She’s an unbelievable Zarya, so much so that she’s been accused of cheating with the character! She wasn’t cheating though, she’s just that good. Geguri regularly has high charge and punishes teams with her off-tank play.
Early last year, Geguri became the first lady to join a team in the OWL! Her squad had a rough start but we think she will open the door for other girl gamers to go pro.
We’ve all been in games where a dude finds out there is a girl in team chat and starts saying inappropriate things. Don’t be that dude.
