Dota 2 Features: What is the Overwatch system in Dota 2 & how does it work? The Overwatch system helps report griefers and scripters who hamper Dota 2 gameplay for newbies and learners. Read more, and find out how the Dota 2 Overwatch system works.
The article will serve as a guide on how the Overwatch System works in Dota 2. You can also find out how to report players for griefing or suspicious activities. It was introduced to Dota 2 less than 3 months ago, and a lot of Dota 2 content creators have been posting their reviews of Overwatch cases on YouTube.
The Overwatch system is a derivation of a similar kind of system which has been present in CS: GO for a while now. However, it is much more useful in Dota 2, as are a massive number of Smurfs in the game. Queueing up against a smurf can be a terrible experience for new players, and Valve is doing its best to detect and ban these players. So, along comes the Overwatch system.
Today’s update introduces a powerful tool to help the community regulate negative behavior amongst its ranks — Overwatch. Learn more: https://t.co/M4EUkRE8Ou pic.twitter.com/TFUaM3XEyd
While playing the game, you will find a red flag on the scoreboard near the Player’s name and KDA. You can click that to report a player. However, every player gets only a certain number of reports every week. So, use it wisely.
You can report fellow players and even the opponents in the game under one of the following categories:
There is also a time-frame you can report them under. This means you can tell Valve, exactly when one or more of the incidents happened:
You can report a player multiple times in the same game, without using up any extra reports. Once you have reported a player, the case will be assigned to one of the specific members of the Dota 2 community who has a good-standing. They will take a call as to whether the play you reported is Guilty, Not Guilty, or whether it lacks enough evidence.

Is it known who can get a Dota Overwatch cases? I saw info that you have to have 150+ matches +10k conduct, but I have much more and still saw 0 cases yet. Any ideas what's wrong?

some people say you need a good rank but i have no rank and i never play ranked but still i get cases. got almost 6k matches, 10k bscore edit: i remember you need to be in good standing at some account trust factor but i have no idea what that means.. like what is considered a trusted one?

I think you need like 2k hours in dota to judge in overwatch and you need have more that 1k mmr i know that cause if im under 1k mmr i dont get cases anymore :)

you have to get around 9k behavior score and get a certain amount of matches. but tbh it's not really worth doing. it's interesting the first few times but there's no reward of any kind and it's mostly just something to spend a little time on while queueing

Would apologize if this wasn't the help you were asking for, but there must've been an official statement made by DOTA2 on which applicable accounts were provided with Overwatch. Believe you have the rights to have access as well, good luck & may your wish come true. ― Since I didn't write anything concrete, let's keep it this way. You need to spend at least 2-years of playing DOTA2 at least once every month. Believe that is a hint, not a definitive. Kinfully yours.

after 16k games atleast i have the power to report

I dont mind to help out the community with this but on the same time i do wonder what's in return for me or for someone who is overwatching the case. I mean you are the policing games and there is an endless supply of cases.

I have a friend with more hours than me, and 10k behavior all the time as well, who never got Overwatch. But he has never rank placed, so maybe that's why. Last time I rank placed was the start of the medal system, but it still shows my old rank, and I get them. I do know you can't just be 10k one report card then expect to get them, needs to be consistent. Also don't know about Low Priority: I've never had a low priority game in all my hours of dota, so maybe there is a limit on those as well. Never been muted either. Sadly they haven't released a direct requirements list.
