Overwatch Ashe
Biography

Ashe, Age: 39

Occupation: Thief, Gang Leader

Base of Operations: Deadlock Gorge, Arizona, USA

Affiliation: Deadlock Gang
Ashe quickly fires her rifle from the hip or uses her weapon’s aim-down sights to line up a high damage shot. She blasts enemies by throwing dynamite, and her coach gun packs enough punch to put some distance between her and her foes. And Ashe is not alone, as she can call on her omnic ally Bob, to join the fray when the need arises.
Hold to zoom in, increasing damage and accuracy but slowing rate of fire.
Blast enemies in front of you and knock yourself backwards.
Throw an explosive that detonates after a short delay or immediately when shot.
Deploy Bob. He charges forward and knocks enemies into the air, then attacks with his arm cannons.
Ashe is the ambitious and calculating leader of the Deadlock Gang and a respected figure in the criminal underworld.
Born into a wealthy family, Ashe grew up surrounded by privilege. Her parents were highly sought-after business consultants and coaches for powerful CEOs around the world. Though her parents paid little attention to her (mostly leaving her in the care of the family’s omnic butler, Bob), they ensured that Ashe had every opportunity to succeed. But a chance meeting with a local ruffian, named Cole Cassidy, and an impromptu string of crimes committed together opened her eyes to her true calling. The satisfaction of outwitting her targets and the thrill of getting away with it set her on the outlaw path.
Along with the other three founders of the Deadlock Gang, Ashe started to make a name for herself with bigger and more extravagant heists. The Deadlock Gang’s rapid rise to prominence put them at odds with the other criminal organizations in the American Southwest; the encounters often became violent. After years of skirmishes and bloodshed, Ashe called the heads of the major groups together.
Ashe saw the potential to grow the influence of all. She used what she’d learned from her parents’ business to bring order to these groups. Her proposal was that the gangs could work together (or at least, not work against each other). Her principles: keep your word, don’t work with the law, respect each other’s territory, and always punish betrayal.
No longer having to focus her energies on squabbles with the other gangs, Ashe is now writing her name across the American Southwest with a string of audacious heists and operations that has put her at top of the authorities’ most-wanted lists and cemented her legacy as an outlaw legend.

Already one cool lady, Ashe has a few skins that will really make her stand out amongst all the Overwatch heroes.
Ashe, or, Elizabeth Caledonia 'Calamity' Ashe, is the 29th hero released in Overwatch. Leader of the infamous Deadlock Gang, Ashe is a powerful mid to long-range shooter who packs a punch with her dynamite and coach-gun pushback . She is joined in the fight by her protector, B.O.B. (short for Big Omnic Butler), who she calls out as part of her ultimate summons.
There's a lot of lore that ties Ashe into Overwatch. She has a longstanding 'love/hate' relationship with fellow gunslinger McCree, who worked alongside Ashe until his doublecross sting operation. Route 66, one of the main maps in Overwatch, is all about Ashe in fact — as it's the site of her Echo heist gone wrong. Here we look at all the best the 'Viper' has to offer.
It's a sad thing when a skin this detailed ends up at the bottom of a list, but Ashe has some amazing skins that just blow Safari, and its alternate, Jungle, out of the water. Safari sees Ashe dressed as a Big Game Hunter, which produces a slightly different vibe from say, Winston's similar (but very different) Explorer skin .
Safari is a perfect skin for if you are trying for a...khaki theme (?) and was available for Ashe from launch. As such, you can pick it up for the standard Legendary price of 1,000 gold .
Just the same as Safari before it, this skin sees Ashe dressed and ready for the hunt. Jungle adds a slightly more Jurassic Park feel to the whole endeavor and dresses Ashe and B.O.B. in camouflage and...is that snakeskin?
Jungle is definitely a step up from Safari, with a load of extra little features built into the skin. You can purchase this Legendary skin for Ashe year-round for 1,000 gold.
Sadly, this skin has nothing to do with the Spice Girls and instead references the fact that Ashe's backstory has her written as the daughter of aristocrats. Posh, then, is Ashe's flashy basic skin alternate, with both Ashe and B.O.B. embellished in gold and clothed in white leather.
This gaudy-chic skin is an Epic, year-round skin, and will cost you 250 gold to unlock, making Posh one of the cheaper skins for Ashe — definitely not saying something right there.
The first of two lore-related Legendaries released for Ashe on her launch, Mobster and Gangster refer to Ashe's life of crime as leader of the Deadlock Gang. Here in Mobster, we have both Ashe and B.O.B. dressed in cream and purple, with flares of fuchsia pink and teal.
There are some really nice elements here — the flat cap on B.O.B., his mustache, Ashe's roses, the general use of pinstripe — but both this and Gangster are a little formulaic to reach the top of the list. They're a bit too Bugsy Malone, not enough Goodfellas. As a launch Legendary , you can buy Mobster all year round for 1,000 gold.
Gangster is definitely a step up from Mobster, but it's not a huge step. There's a lot more to see here, with bonus detailing in textures and fabrics (we love the card suits playing across B.O.B.'s clothes for example), but as with Mobster, Gangster is just a bit dated in its references.
As a base Legendary , both Gangster and Mobster will cost you a tidy 1,000 gold to unlock. Maybe this one isn't worth the gamble, though.
It's time for something fancy, and nothing says fancy like head-to-toe reflective pink armor! Thorn embraces one of Ashe's favorite aesthetics — roses — layering floral patterns over her and B.O.B.'s costumes subtly.
As an Epic , this beautiful skin will only cost you 250 gold , and you can unlock it year-round. It's a cheap price for an otherwise pretty classy skin.
Almost an oppositional skin to Thorn before it, Winter has Ashe and B.O.B. in their warm, fur-lined best, dressed in lovely wintery shades of blue and white. The sky blue highlights on both B.O.B.'s arms, abs, and mustache, as well as on Ashe's arms are especially good, with the use of snowflake motifs added to really drive the idea home.
Winter was released during the 2018 Winter Wonderland season and served as Ashe's earliest seasonal skin. As a seasonal, you will have to wait until Winter to unlock this skin, but, as an Epic, it will only cost you 250 gold when you do!
Socialite sees Ashe at her most refined and is also one of the more lore-heavy skins for the character. Whilst Ashe is well established in-game as a gunslinger, her background as the daughter of aristocratic socialities is often a surprising reveal for new players.
This Legendary skin embraces that backstory, as well as making the most overt reference to B.O.B.'s original job, as Ashe's private omnic Butler. Both Ashe and B.O.B. are dressed to the nines, with Ashe in a bright, fur-trimmed coat (embellished with gold, naturally) and B.O.B. wearing a set of Butler's tails (and even a monocle!). This sophisticated skin was released during the 2019 Archives season and can be purchased in season for 1,000 gold.
Not only is Warlock a fantastic skin, but it's also actually a certified game-breaking skin! This elaborate Halloween skin for Ashe is a tribute to the World of Warcraft class, but when it was released during the 2019 Halloween season, it featured design elements that players said made Ashe completely unplayable.
One quick patch later and all of Warlock's issues were sorted out, and now you can purchase Warlock at a Legendary price of 1,000 gold — as long as it is during the Halloween season. This is a particularly good skin because of the full B.O.B. transformation into a fiery Earth Elemental, as there is only a couple of Ashe skins that change B.O.B.'s basic design.
Whilst many Anniversary skins like to celebrate the backstory of Overwatch character, this imaginative skin for Ashe prefers to tell us a familiar bedtime fairytale: that of Little Red Riding Hood. Ashe is redesigned into a much more combative version of Red, complete with leather harness and armor — and B.O.B. has become the Wolf, dressed in his tricksy 'Grandmother' garb. It's both easily recognizable and a fresh take on the tale.
This Legendary skin was released during the 2020 Anniversary season and is by far one of Ashe's most impressive seasonals. As a seasonal Legendary it will cost you 1,000 gold to unlock, but it is limited to Anniversary.
If you like your skins rare, there's none better for Ashe than this colorful limited edition skin. Ashe and B.O.B. are dressed for a festive evening out, New Orleans style. Purple and green gradients in metallic and reflective textures make this skin sing — and the loving details (the masks, the top hats!) are just the icing on the cake.
Mardi Gras was a reward for completion of the Ashe's Mardi Gras Challenge during February and March 2020 , and as such is sadly not currently purchasable. It's unknown as to whether it will ever be offered again, so enjoy it if you have it!
The most recent addition to Ashe's skins is the winner for best Ashe skin, and it's easy to see why! Tiger Huntress was released as part of the 2021 Lunar New Year season , so it is unfortunately locked to the season for purchase. This amazing skin dresses Ashe in teal and golden yellow, with lots of flourishes of layered detail present in not only her clothes but also her weapons.
However, the real draw of this skin has to be the amazing B.O.B. transformation as, in Tiger Huntress, we see our favorite robot Butler become a full-fledged (somewhat android?) tiger. With some really great rendering on show, specifically in B.O.B.'s head design, this skin makes a real impression. You can purchase Tiger Huntress during the Lunar New Year season for 1,000 gold .

Games » Overwatch » Overwatch Ashe Comprehensive Guide
I’ve been working on a comprehensive Ashe guide for a while now, and I’ve finally finished it.
If you’re already a small-time Ashe player, or completely new to the hero and want to pick her up, then read on!
Ashe is OW’s 29th hero, and exists under the Damage category. She has the standard DPS 200 health, is unable to heal herself, and has moderate mobility.
She’s a gun-focused hero, and requires high mechanical skill to get the most value out of her.
Ashe’s gun, the Viper, is a rifle that deals 40 damage while unscoped, and 85 while scoped. It has 12 shots before you need to reload, and a unique trait is that unlike all other guns in OW, Ashe’s gun reloads by each bullet instead of by magazine. Thus, the more shots are used, the longer the reload will be, all the way up to 4.25 seconds reloading from empty.
Both scoped and unscoped can headshot, for double damage. (Unscoped headshots for 80, scoped for 170)
However, The Viper experiences standard hitscan falloff to 50% of normal damage beginning at 20 meters for unscoped shots, and 30m for scoped shots. This means that she can be out ranged by projectile heroes and Widowmaker.
Unscoped, The Viper deals 160 damage per second as all bodyshots. Scoped in, it deals 119 damage per second as all bodyshots.
For headshots, DPS values are 320 and 238 for unscoped and scoped, respectively. This is lower in many cases than rapid firing heroes, so Ashe’s main value is in her Damage thresholds . These are key breakpoints of damage that result in a kill.
Getting headshot by Ashe’s scoped mode puts a standard 200 hp hero down to 30 health. While not a one-shot like a widow headshot, this low amount of health puts someone in great risk of dying. People at 30 health can be killed by another bodyshot from the ashe, a melee from any hero in the game, a genji swift strike, a shot from a McCree, a headshot from Mercy’s pistol, (lul) etc.
Inversely, any hero that has taken any of these forms of damage will die instantly to an ashe headshot . Additionally, of course, any hero with sub-170 max health will also be one-shot.
For tanks with 400 health, it takes 2 scoped headshots and an unscoped headshot, or another scoped bodyshot. (This means an ashe can 3 shot any 400 health tank, provided they can aim)
For tanks with 500 health, they can be killed with 3 scoped headshots. (After the PTR armor nerf)
Tanks with 600 health take 4 scoped headshots to kill.
Because Ashe’s headshot damage sits so close to the 200 hp mark, if Ashe’s damage is boosted in any form (Mercy boost, or discorded target, or nanoed, etc) then her scoped headshots will one-shot 200hp heroes , because it becomes 221 with 30%, and a whopping 255 with 50%.
Thus, 400 HP tanks can be 2 shot, and so on.
Ashe’s first ability, Coach Gun, is her Mobility and “get off my ass” ability. It propels her away from the direction it’s shot, and if it hits anyone they’ll be sent away as well. Ashe is always knocked away regardless of the pellets hitting anyone/thing. It has a 10 second cooldown.
It deals up to 90 damage when shot at someone point blank, but in practice deals paltry damage.
Coach gun can also be aimed downward to launch Ashe upward, this is her main tool for getting to high ground, or escaping ground-locked heroes like Tracer.
Coach gun should primarily be used for mobility, and self defense. When used for self-defense, try to hit your attacker with it, in order to maximize the distance created between you. This can allow for free headshots as targets get knocked into the air.
And of course, since it is a boop, you can indeed use it to boop people off cliffs. Be careful however that you don’t get yourself killed using this ability by knocking yourself off a cliff.
Ashe’s second ability, Dynamite, throws a grenade that flies through the air in a long arc. It’s fuse only begins once the projectile touches the ground. However, the grenade can be shot by Ashe to instantly detonate it.
The explosion radius is large, and will deal a burst of damage in the realm of 75-30 damage depending on distance from the grenade, and 100 afterburn damage, for up to 175 damage total.
The grenade does damage Ashe, for up to 87 damage.
Due to the high damage of this ability it’s valuable for building ult, as well as gaining elims on people not being healed. Healers can counteract the burn, however they cannot remove it early. Only abilities that purge other debuffs like Zarya bubbles, invincibility abilities, etc will purge the burn. Taking a healthpack will also extinguish you.
The burn effect also affects structures like turrets and barriers, damaging them over time.
This ability has great damage thresholds:
From my testing, damage boosts seem to boost the initial burst of the blast, but not the afterburn. Feel free to correct me on this if your testing says otherwise.
Ashe’s ultimate, BOB, summons her faithful butler to enter the fray. Upon summoning, BOB falls out of thin air in front of Ashe, and begins running in a straight line where Ashe is looking. He’ll continue running for great distance (looks like 70m, Wiki says 65m, dunno) or until he contacts a wall or enemy. If he hits an enemy, he’ll deal 120 damage to them (by the way, this makes them killable with a scoped bodyshot) and fling them into the air, and stop charging.
After stopping, he switches to turret mode, where he proceeds to gun down anyone he can see, dealing about 122 damage per second, with perfect aim, totaling up to about 1100 damage overall if he’s allowed to shoot the whole time he’s down. (10 seconds)
While he’s in play, he contests any objectives he’s on, (including capturing) and can also be healed and boosted by supports.
After expiring via death or time, he’ll jump away again into thin air.
BOB requires 2000 charge to obtain. It’s very fast to charge if dynamite is used on large groups, or if the ashe player has a high headshot percentage. Charge towards her next ult can still be obtained by Ashe while BOB is in play.
Ashe possesses a few hero options that can be seen by selecting her on the controls screen of options, and you should definitely look through them if you’re picking up Ashe.
This is the same option all other heroes with a scope have, play around with this to find a good number you like. I personally use 45, apparently 51.66 is 1:1 relative. It depends on what you’re used to.
So many people get what this option does wrong. Ashe doesn’t possess recoil. The only true recoil any hero in the game has is McCree’s fan the hammer, and Whole Hog. (Both of which actually move your crosshair up over time) Everything else just visually moves your crosshair up, but the crosshair will always return to center before you can fire again. This is true for Widow, Ashe, McCree, basically any hero that has this option. Thus, you never have to factor in recoil, like you might have to for other FPS games.
So what does this option do, then? If you happen to come from another FPS with recoil mechanics where a gun “kicks up” after shooting (and shooting again with shoot higher than the last time, even if you don’t move your mouse), then you will have a natural habit to sharply pull down on your mouse while firing to counteract this recoil. However, since OW doesn’t have recoil, compensating like this will make your crosshair end up too low.
So, this option was added for those people. If
