In Bastet, it’s revealed that Jack got his info on Reaper from someone else. I think that someone would be Sombra, who’d know about Reaper and be willing to sell that information for a price.
The price? Clean up Dorado’s streets from the Los Muertos gang, who’ve controlled the city since she was a little girl. Save kids like Alejandra from being forced into a life of crime for survival. Then she would give him her info on Reaper and Talon’s organizations
The kicker? Jack failed in his mission. Los Muertos got away, and he threw away his chance to get his critical information to save one girl. And yet he has the information.
We know Sombra knows Alejandra from the comic “Searching”. Out of all the people in Dorado, Alejandra knew where Sombra’s hideout would be. Maybe Sombra cares personally about her, or maybe she just sees herself in the kid, but there’s a connection there strong enough that she gave Jack what he wanted just for saving that girl, even though he failed.
(Sombra could probably give him way more than that, though. If she gave him everything she knew, he could probably track down Reaper in a week. Maybe she’s holding off out of her own need for Talon, or maybe she’s withholding the rest until he takes out Los Muertos for good.)
The kicker is that Alejandra doesn’t know what Sombra did for her. She’ll never know about the hardened criminal who sold out her own organization so that she’d never have to become like her.
Okay now that the new Overwatch comic came out I require Sombra being a protective big sister to Alejandra like asap

Idk how I feel about Sombra's real name, but I'm glad that Alejandra knew her after all
I need to know Sombra’s connection to Panadería Las Nieblas, the bakery that Alejandra’s mom owns . Like did she used to work there to earn money? Did the mom give her free bread since Sombra was an orphan and had no income source? Was Alejandra’s mom her mother figure and Alejandra a little sister to her?
Sombra’s pretty self centered, manipulative, and snarky, but she always seems so genuine when she says that she should stop by there. I feel like if there’s one place she lets her guard down it’s probably there. I need to know more info.
Random reminder that Alejandra is the only named character in the shorts who isn’t playable in-game and is still alive at the end.
Friendly reminder that, until Sombra’s real name is revealed, she will always be Alejandra in my mind.
