I received a copy of Overwatch (the $60 version) for free (along with an Overwatch headset). It’s a decent game and I have nothing bad to say about it. Except for the fact that I was never a huge fan of Team Fortress and I bore easily from First Person Shooter games. I play occasionally but not very much. If it wasn’t for the fact that my girlfriend (and her friends) play the game fairly regularly I’m not sure I would even keep it installed.
So there you go. Yes, it’s a good game. If that is your style/genre of gameplay.
If you aren’t into team FPS games, then it’s just an expensive (and improved) version of Team Fortress 2 (which is free).
If you are buying on pc (the only version I have played) it is only $40. The game is incredibly fun and it is definitely my favorite game of the year. The game has much more replayability than most other shooters. It is incredibly well balanced for the most part. Every single class in this game is fun, I never play the support/healer in other games but I do in Overwatch (and it's one of my favorite classes). There is a huge variety of different play styles across all the different heroes so you’lol definetly find one to fit your style. There is only two problems with the game right now and they are both pretty minor overall. For one it favors the shooter, which means it uses client side hit detection so if you round a corner or teleport away but the enemy kills you on their screen, you still die. The second is that roadhog’s hook is incredibly broken and allows you to be hooked around corners (this is about to be patched within a month so it will be gone soon). Neither of these problems are game breaking. All other glitches and bugs are very minor and I have never encountered them. There is a bug that allows mei to exit the map on one specific map, but I've never had anybody do it during my many hours of playtime. I cannot recommend Overwatch enough. At least for me I think the game could easily be double the price and still have a great value. So yes I do think Overwatch is worth the $60($40 if you don't get origins edition which is what I suggest)
