The Celebrity Standard CS24-RR guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a solid spruce top featuring quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing. We reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively to arrive at this remarkable new design, which borrows from the past and is voiced for the present with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body and top create the classic Ovation sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity. The spruce top also has an elegant pearloid rosette, ivory white binding and beautiful Ruby Red gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable neck with a natural satin finish and rosewood-veneer headstock, 20-fret bound rosewood fretboard with pearloid microdot inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CS24-RR features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/ gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

Bought this mainly for recording as it actually record quite well with the built in pickups. Good action and plays well. My only complaint is the it does not include and type of case or strap. You get a guitar in a cardboard box and that’s it. It used to be kind of expected that when you purchased a new guitar it came with some sort of carrying case and a strap but I guess those days are over. All item sold separately. Bought this guitar for $420.42 before tax. The guitar had very high action and tuners were stiff. So, I returned the guitar withing DAYS. Instead of refunding the $420.42, the refunded only $372.57, THEN proceeded to charge a restocking fee of $21.02. NO RESPONSE OR RESOLUTION From Vendor or Amazon. Does this sound fair to you? UPDATE: Vendor claims guitar was returned with scratches. LIARS. that guitar was returned exactly in the same condition they sent it in. Google complaints on GearTree. You'll see how many times they pull this BS.

I love the quality of this Guitar. I love the built in tuner. On the down side it has a little wider neck and finger board then I am used to. I bought this to replace the older Applause I had that shattered when it fell to the floor one day. The depth of the body is narrower then the old Applause, and the guitar is not as loud when played without an amp. The Applause had the very deep body, and was notably louder. This guitar is not a good "kick around" and "play outside" guitar, that the 30 year old Applause was, it will need an amp.

Always love the action of these guitars and their versatility when plugged in. I got a D'Addario (planet waves) 4" muffler for it which was a tight fit but really helps when plugged it. There was a slight rattle inside that became louder when i first got it which worried me, but after loosening the strings and feeling inside i felt a nut under the bridge that was loose. Tightened that sucker and nothing since. I read after online a lot of people reporting a "mysterious buzz" by the bridge and werent sure if it was strings or fret buzz or what, SO if you happen to be one of those folks give it a shot :)

I like this guitars great playability and tone. The finish is outstanding with a little exception of around the inside of the soundhole. The Sound acoustically is superb and the sound elecrically is outstanding.The tuner is accurate and convenient.For the price you would be hard pressed to find a better acoustic-electric guitar.I took one star off for the sketchy finishing inside the soundhole. Recommended! ps.You will need a Offset guitar cable as the output jack is in the rear of the guitar.

Beautiful finish on the wood. Neck construction is flawless - very smooth and VERY solid. The Celebrity logo at the very top of the neck is done with raised lettering and is very elegant. The tuning keys sport an Ovation brand stamp on them (different than my first Ovation which used an outsourced manufacturer). The sound on this guitar is beautiful with the right strings. The strings that come with it do not sound as good as the Elixir 11's that I usually get. When I changed the strings out to the Elixir's, it sounded so much better. Finally, Ovation includes shims underneath the lower bridge so that you can adjust the action of the strings. After taking most of them out, the action was nice and low, and with the .11 strings, there was no vibration against the frets at all. For the price, you can't beat this guitar in terms of sound quality, action and durability because of the polymer back of the guitar. My first Ovation is 16 years old and has no damage at all in spite of being handled all over the place and in every place.
I am a woodwind player and have tried to teach myself guitar many times over the years, but quickly gave up because of sore fingers and shoulders. I bought the Ovation Celebrity guitar 2 months ago, and, for the price, it has a very nice sound. It also has soft strings and is comfortable and easy to play. I am progressing and have tons to learn, and am enjoying playing this guitar daily.

It plays easy, looks great, but some very serious buzzz that sounds like it is coming from the bridge. Put much better strings on it, still has the buzz. Going to have to take it to get fixed. Yes, after buying a new guitar, I'm going to have to pay to fix it. It's a shame, but when you buy online and never actually see what you are paying for, it's always a gamble.

Very Good For The Price
I'm not really an aficionado of Acoustic Guitars, having mostly played electrics throughout my years but I have had a little bit of history with acoustics. I owned one of those Yamaha CPX Electro Acoustics back in the day...paid a small fortune for it too - £669, if memory served me right - but it should have been £999 at the time, so a deal! It sounded good, played good but was a bit of a handful.... Coming forward some 18 years or so, on the look out for an acoustic I figured that I would have a look at the Ovation collection. Being a HUGE Bon Jovi fan, back in the days in which they were interesting, perhaps swayed that decision! So, the Celebrity arrived, via Germany no less, within a week and it was exciting getting it out of the boxes - yes, boxes! First impression was that it was small in comparison with my old Yamaha, it had the resin bowl back, of course, and had a lovely neck. The 3 band EQ works well and it's quite eye opening just how different the sound can be through an amplifier.....but, moreover, it played great without the amp, had quite a big projection and fits well both sitting down and standing up. For the price? Just over £300 ? I'm pretty amazed. It sounds better than my old Yamaha too. Glad I bought it...and isn't that the main thing about anything we buy? Treat yourself...

Piccole imperfezioni di finitura me accettabili, verniciatura ottima, e si tratta comunque di un prodotto made in China. Le corde in dotazione non sono il massimo, meglio sostituirle con le proprie preferite. Come acustica suona molto bene, un buon sustain e brillantezza. Amplificata su un Vox valvolare è assolutamente più che accettabile. Utile acquistare un tappo per la buca se la si suona amplificata. Un poco impreciso il montaggio dei tasti, meglio limarli un poco sui bordi esterni. L'action è perfetta, le corde non frustano con una muta 012. Ottimo acquisto nel rapporto qualità prezzo.

La guitare est arrivée avec un leger retard du au transporteur. Le vendeur a parfaitement réagi. La guitare était très ben emballée et protégée. Elle est excellente, je la recommande vivement. C'est un grand plaisir de jouer avec.

Ovation's tradition of building effortless, great feeling acoustic/electrics continues with the Celebrity Collection. The CS24 is a Celebrity standard center-soundhole model with a fast, satin-finished neck and a Mid-Depth body. A Solid Sitka Spruce top, scalloped X-bracing and Ovation’s trademark Lyrachord roundback give this model a rich, full sound. Setting the live performance bar high, the CS24 incorporates the combination of an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system which enables players to dial in the perfect tone on stage. The Celebrity Collection offers pro looks, feel and tone, but is designed for the progressing player.
Celebrity models are crafted with a satin-finished mahogany neck. A soft 'V' shape and a narrower neck width give it a very slim feel. The radius, or measurement of the arc of the fretboard, is the curvature that affects playability. Celebrity models have a 10" radius, feeling more like an electric guitar than other flatter radius acoustics. A curved radius also makes chording easier. The neck has a 20 fret Ovangkol Fretboard and the guitar has a scale length of 25.3"(643mm). The satin finish, smaller nut, slightly smaller scale length, and 10" fingerboard radius all combine to give Celebrity models a fast feel.
