Outer Space Adventures Book Series

The series follows the adventures of Rocky Jones and his crew as they travel the solar system, encountering strange and dangerous aliens and adventures.

I was inspired to write my own space adventure series, loosely based on Rocky Jones. My series is called the XV-2 and follows the crew of the titular spaceship. The primary crew members are Rocky, the captain; Winky, the co-pilot; and Vena, the astro-navigator and exo-linguist. Rocky is the typical square-jawed hero, but he has some baggage from his youth that affects his hate-to-love him persona. Winky is kind of goofy-looking, from a rich family, but he wants nothing to do with their money, since he often says, 'I want to make my own way in the universe.' Winky has a natural affinity for all things mechanical and often makes repairs on the ship. He also has a natural ability to sing and play any instrument by ear. Winky is also the comedy relief with his antics and jokes. Finally, we have Vena who grew up on Venus. Both her parents are scientists. She has a very high IQ and speaks 36 languages from Earth and around the universe. It takes her only a few hours to get the basics of a language she's never heard simply by talking to people. She is also the astro-navigator and is very good at math. However, she also comes with a few problems. She's very impulsive at times and has a very thick record of traffic violations with her lead foot.

The XV-2 crew gets into all sorts of adventures, encountering strange and dangerous aliens, as well as the occasional love interest. If you're looking for a space adventure series to get lost in, I highly recommend riding along on the "Silver Moon" XV-2.
