Style: Standard 2-Pk Verified Purchase

Versatile, but tricky to get snapped together and secure

Good product and good value. Does exactly what it's designed to do - protects my power outlets from the weather. However, it is a serious pain to install. Almost impossible to properly align the outlets in the openings the way it's been designed. I made it work, but it doesn't look as nice and clean as it should. I could get the power outlets inside completely level.

So far it has kept the water out and was easy to install but it latches so tight that I have a hard time getting it to release.

Installation was very easy. It came with all the adapters and screws. Took me only 5 minutes. My only disappointment was that it is designed for a flush mounted electrical box. The back of the cover has weather stripping to seal on the wall around the box. Since mine is mounted ON the wall instead of IN the wall, I had to get a little creative.

I incorporated with a wall mount for Echo Dot , also from Amazon, to fabricate an outdoor installation. Drilled holes in the cover and it worked like a charm.

Used it on a single outlet so I could put a security camera plug in sideways and close and secure the lid. Works great!

The description says the 2 gang cover can be mounted horizontally and vertically and while that may be true, it cannot be used as intended, as an in-use weatherproof cover, with horizontally mounted receptacles. The blanks only snap in one way and that leaves the cord openings facing sideways which defeats the purpose of an in-use cover. I think it's a great cover otherwise, I just need something that can mount sideways.

The outlet cover was easy enough to install. It will prevent splash water to get into the electric outlet. However, if there is extensive water spray, it will not keep the water out. Around the clear cover, there are no rubber seals and neither are there any seals around the separate covers to attach to the outlet. I have issues with insects in my yard also. These covers will not keep ants and other little bugs out since there is numerous hole in the covers that will have to be sealed by silicone or something. In comparison, I attached a picture of a European waterproof outlet cover. Nothing gets into that..
