This is a high quality cable that should last years in harsh weather conditions. Some complain that there is nothing to cover the plastic lock lever on the jack but this allows you to use an inline waterproof protector. I have been using these cables for my outdoor PoE cameras, 50, 75, 100, adn even a 150 ft run. A T28 stapler is NOT wide enough for this wire, you have to be very careful. The Dahua and HiKvision cameras both came with ethernet weather seals that required trimming the molded rubber junk from around from the camera end RJ45... my sharp pocket knife made that pretty easy.

The jacket is very thick. I'm using these as the patch cable to connect my outdoor IP cameras to the cat6 drop I installed in the eves of the house. I wanted to shorten up one or two of them. When I cut off the connector and started to prep the new end, the typical cat6 strain relief boot didnt fit over the jacket.. looked close, there are 2 outer jackets... so could cut just one outer jacket off a small section to get the boot on and crimp the new rj45 connector on with no problem. The new end was indoors,so didnt care. work well, and can be shortened and re-terminated... just have to cut away the first outer jacket of the two.

Used this cable between my FIOS ONT and my router. Thick cable (similar to a RG59/RG6 coax cable). Very durable cable jacket. The ends of the cable where long (i.e. RJ45 + cable relief) so it made it a little difficult to close the FIOS ONT enclosure door. I would definitely recommend this cable if you have to run from inside your house to something exterior (POE cameras for example could also use this)

I was installing an AP outside my house to the server rack. I own a network fluke IQ to test the length of the candle to make sure it can handle 10g internet. When I tested the cable it could only run 100mb. 100 ft cable can play a role however I decided to cut it down to length with only 2 service loops and come to find out it’s NOT a solid bare wire. It’s advertised solid copper wire. It’s clearly not

It seems that getting CAT6 or better outdoor cables that are UV-resistant, weatherproof and in the color white is rare. Most such cables come in black and that's not good for running along the white trim of a house. These CAT 6 cables are not inexpensive and yet the manufacturer choose to use really cheap flimsy RJ45 plugs on each end. In particular, the locking tabs bend given the slightest provocation and will certainly brake off if plugged/unplugged repeatedly, so caution is needed if you purchase.

using for an outdoor IP camera and it works and looks good. as another mentioned WHITE is harder to find for outdoor/UV rated cable. i got a great sale price on 100ft, knowing i would be shortening it and now have some extra for the next time so buy larger if the price makes sense. i bought this 100ft WHITE outdoor/UV essentially to use as bulk cable to make my own lengths because it's harder to find bulk (and reasonably priced) its thick, double insulated, its rigid and meant to be. i had no problems re-terminating/crimping. remember to always use quality tools and components/ends. (not sure about getting good connections in a punch down jack as they are usually designed for solid cable-see below re: stranded) again as another person mentioned I wasn't able to get a boot over the outer jacket but doesn't bother me. original ends did not have boots either. you could get a boot over the inner jacket, but i preferred to have outer jacket pushed right up snug to the end of RJ45 connector. its tight right to the crimp pins. i've been working with 23AWG solid cable for so long, it was different to use this 24AWG so after I was done I opened up one of the conductors (see photo) this is definitely pure bare copper. it's stranded cable which is perfectly fine. if this was solid conductor I imagine it would be much to stiff, so stranded works great (solid is generally used for infrastructure/in walls-it's stiffer, stranded is generally used for patch cables-more pliable/bends nicer) this cable is stiff because of the double jacket/insulation for protection/outdoor use. if you're intending to shorten/customize length and use with patch panel or punch down keystone jack, you might be better off crimping this cable to RJ45 and using inline coupler. twists per cm on this wire look good to Cat6 Specification. Cat6 allows for up to 28awg, but stick with 23/24 if possible unless you absolutely need slim/run for aesthetics/space. higher awg (smaller conductor) will produce more heat/resistance and higher potential failure. as always stay away from CCA (copper Clad aluminum). also dont mix up outdoor/UV with direct burial, they don't always share the same characteristics.

So I’m using this with my four channel ethernet microphone hubs.
