This camera advertises great features, but the reality is back behind what it says it offers. I purchased 3 E1 Outdoor cameras. Issues : 1 - The autofocus mostly will end up facing the wall and will not return back to original position after motion is detected, due this problem I had to turn off this feature in my front camera, removing this feature makes this camera like any other normal camera and not worth vs other brands. 2 - Night Vision goes off unexpectedly, from the 3 cameras I noticed one camera was recording all black on night after being working fine for days, I checked and the Night vision was set to Auto but was not triggering on night. I had to reboot the camera couple of times. 3 - Losses motion when passing by a post or static item, if the camera detects a person walking it will start following , but if the person pass by a Obstacle like a Post, Pillar, or a similar static Object camera will stop at that object and stop following the person, this is very bad, and will not return to original position. 4 - 1 out of 3 cameras losses Wifi very often and reboots itself, it can transmit live stream video but when i try to use the Tilt function to move it from my phone or from a Mac Computer it will freeze and reboot. I have contacted support and they cannot provide a replacement due low product stock. 5 - Two way Audio, this feature has a lot to improve, talking from a phone connected to the same Wifi of the camera, it has a big delay of around 2 seconds and there is a problem on the echo, it ended up not being useful until this big delay is improved and the echo fixed. Pros: I opted for Reolink because they offer the 360 recording option with the SD card and No forced monthly plans, plus you can connect to the NVR, and get notification on the phone, it also offers the two way audio, tilt, price is mostly similar to other brands. Final Advice : Reolink really need to improve the given points to make this camera outstanding and make it worth compared to other brands.

Our R&D department is developing the corresponding upgrade firmware for these problems, and some of them have been optimized so far. If you still have problems with your camera, you can ask for a request at support@reolink.com
This needs to have POE and not limited to Reolink NVR 5 Star if you get POE on this thing!

The short answer is yes. E1 outdoor can not be powered by the NVR, it's not a PoE camera.

Does this camera need separate power when plugged into the NVR (i.e. no PoE within the camera?)
The camera and mount are made of plastic. The screw pattern of the mount does not match other cameras so expect to drill new holes if you are replacing an old camera. It does use the same wall adapter that the RLC511 uses. You need the app to turn on the auto tracking feature it's not available in the Windows client yet. The camera has an annoying habit of not returning to it's starting point after an event. Many times it get confused and faces the wall. . . not very useful to watch the wall. Support has hinted that that issue will be addressed in near future firmware. Several times it has lost video signal and needed to be rebooted, even though the RLC-511W that it replaced worked fine in the same spot. I am torn between turning off the light feature and leaving it on. It does illuminate the area a bit better, but the camera takes a couple of seconds to adjust to the change in lighting and it ends up with video that is not very good until it adjusts and seconds count on a video. I have not had the fogging problem others have had, but I mounted it under an eave so it does not get direct rain. I do like the price and auto tracking but Reolink really needs to fix the 'return to zero' after an event for me to buy another one. I like that it works with my NVR (RLN16-410). It would also be good if it had more than 5MP. I'm giving it 2 stars because of the return to zero issue.

Aufnahmen am Tag sind ganz gut, in der Nacht eher mäßig. Das auto-tracking ist miserabel, da die Kamera zu langsam ist und nicht hinterherkommt. Wer wirklich wert auf auto-tracking legt ist mit dieser Kamera schlecht bedient.

Awesome camera for the price, person/vehicle detection with 3X Zoom. Color night vision doesnt work unless triggered then stay for few minutes, so if your street is extremely dark like mine it wont work well. I really donno why to not give the consumer the option to choose at least “on” at night for certain hours? Also i need an option for “continuous recording” to SD Card instead of increasing the sensitivity to the highest for it to keep recording! The camera is well built, BUT NOT metal like my 511W or 811A! Setting the camera is a breeze, doesnt take few minutes! Thanks for including extension cable, Adapter and mounting belt. The box now looks more professional like Apple boxes! The 2 screws are in very wrong position, very tight, thats a flaw in my book, its just very bad mounting option! The camera is also heavy for those tiny screws provided that when you tight it strong the head of the screw deteriorate from bad quality! I wish it was 360 degree but its not, when you reach the end of rotation, you have to return back! My Alien router is 25 feet away from the camera thats mounted on a tree, its barely catching 1 bar wifi signal! The App is really clean looking, UI is very user friendly, speaker sounds really good beside the loud siren! Image quality is always the best in most of Reolink cameras beside the awesome optical zoom! Definitely i’ll keep buying Reolink products, because simply they are the best in the market especially they are only specialize in cameras so main focus will always be on how to improve their products. Keep it up Reolink and make more awesome “improved” Cameras :)

ive been waiting for this camera for months. the whole time expecting to pay 99.99 but the day its available the price goes up to 199.99 bucks whats up with that? very disappointing

$99 is for one camera, $199.98 is for 2 cameras.
I wanted to replace an old Dlink similar to this camera but it only output 720p. This camera does everything and more. This is my 6th Reolink device. I purchased it to keep my ducks safe after a fox consumed 1. The camera has been able to capture Mr. Fox allowing me to fox proof my back yard. The tracking software (humans, animals) is ok. My only complaint about it is that unless you are aware of the tracking feature you must remember to return it to the default location, otherwise it could be positioned to look at nothing. It need to return to the default location set up! The new interface V8.2.6 is much better than Reolink Client V7.2.2.33, however the playback DOES NOT WORK on a PC. The remote control feature is good and the response time varies from device to device. The tablet/phone app is the best to review videos. The set up for this camera was the best of any of the Reolink products I have purchased. With the new software all you are required to do is plug the camera into the router and it automatically is aware of the camera, enter the logon and password. I haven't tried the camera far from the router. That is one of my criticisms of the Reolink is distance issues with connection to routers. For the price $ and performance this is a great camera from Reolink. The only issue I have ever had with Reolink is the software interface.

The camera works ok, but has issues. One thing I have a problem with the calibration routine, having it recalibrate when setting patrol points, is a pain. The other day I wanted to look at my yard and the camera was not at the point where I remembered it was. It had moved to another patrol point, by itself. Generally I am just not a happy camper.
