Very convenient short drive from Trivandum airport after travel and late arrival Room comfortable with nice ammenities at reasonable price and staff very welcoming. Pool is very nice and there is ayurveda spa. Early morning short walk to beach to see local fishermen. Would definitely stay here again. The hotel also overcharged me for a taxi I took the next day to another city 3X the regular price. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Great to be near the beach, yet away from the crowds. Can be a bit cumbersome if you intend to go sightseeing in the city, but if you want to relax or have a stopover before your flight, no better place. Excellent service and facilities. Though close to the main road. Staff were exceptional and their hospitality was great. The Evening buffet was superb. The dishes had real authentic taste especially the avial Dhal and thoron. More like a guest house. The room smells musky. The sheets were stained with oil or whatever. The power plugs are at weird places. Could not sleep the entire night. Left immediately the next morning. Old, dilapidated, this place is really not fit for staying. It is like guard room in the s for those who did NS in Singapore. The noisy ceiling fan, omg. A special thank to Mr. Vishnu the night manager. He helped me early check-in on 25th March. I would proudly recommend this hotel to everyone who visits Trivandrum. It is very close with Domestic airport. And very old. Not after 40min when food comes. It was a great stay. The staff were particularly good. They gave us discounted rates for stay after the check out time. And we really loved the ambience of the hotel. Food was good too. Will be going back soon. We had a 6 hours layover and we decide to stay in this hotel. We did not booked online so the moment we arrived, the guy from the reception offer me a price 3, inr so i said i checked in agoda before we came that its inr cheaper so i told him if its possible to book thru agoda and he said yes. I asked him politely for the wifi password to book the room online and he dont want to give, he is so rude. To make the story short we dine in their restaurant just to book online. The hotel is walking distance from the beach and the airport is less than five minutes by car away. The restaurant has great buffets of good quality food. I asked for a couple of my usual breakfast items and that proved to be no problem for the staff. The level of English literacy of the staff beats many other hotels - I found the reception ladies and restaurant staff to be outstanding in their understanding and help to me. I will visit again. Booked this room as agardo was providing information that it has bath tub but it will be not there. I had to cancel the booking that I booked first. The cancellation was done on the date of checkin and according to their rules, they do not need to provide me a refund or postponement. It was a surprise that they extended us the booking for a later date on my request and it was done a month afterwards. Really I didnt expect that from a hotel in Kerala and they outperformed. Especially, the assistant front office manager Girish, he simply rocks. Rescued us from Trivandrum Airport in the middle of the night when we were stranded with not a single car or cab in sight. Speedy check in , excellent rooms , we saw the CEO personally supervising the ongoings, all through really impressed , will definitely recommend and visit personally when things settle down in my home state. Our group had a fabulous 2 wks holiday in India and decided to book a hotel close to the airport on the last leg of our journey to facilitate transfer to Hotel. We got it right by choosing the Uday hotel. Great hotel and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Would without doubt recommend this hotel. We used this hotel as a stop off after a long flight to relax for a few days before heading off again on our travels, lovely pool and gardens and staff in particular front of house staff who are brilliant and very informative. The hotel was great. Two employees stand out as providers of service excellence. They include Gireesh and Ophelia. We are from the US and have stayed at the hotel in the past based on the recommendation of my brother. We were very satisfied last time, and therefore decided to stay here again. Once again we were very happy with our stay. We utilized the restaurant, pool, and aryuvedic massage service. We will patronize the hotel as long as they continue to provide great value. One recommendation: You already have a pool bar built in. Why not operationalize it? Perfect place for an early morning flight arrival. Transport was arranged, driver was waiting for us and only a short drive to the hotel. Our room was spacious and well equipped, and the pool and sunbeds were an ideal way to relax after a long flight. We were delighted that we had decided to stay for an extra night, and that we are staying there overnight before our flight home. We booked this hotel to be as close to the airport as possible, as we were leaving on a flight at 6am the following morning. It was booked months in advance. When we arrived the staff told us that they had released the room and had booked it to someone else. They gave no explanation why they had done this. It appeared that there was a wedding underway. They had arranged for us to have another room at their hotel in Kovallam. This was completely unacceptable. Overall, the hotel is what you expect and staff is friendly. I have stayed 3 times and will most likely stay again. This is the third time I have stayed here. This hotel has such a relaxed tropical feel, because it is so beautifully landscaped. All of the staff treat you like family. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is wonderful. I stayed here for one night before continuing to Amritapuri Ashram. The hotel was very clean. The buffet breakfast was excellent with both Indian and Western choices. Much better than buffet breakfasts in the States. The facilities were good and the internet connection decent. I did not use the pool as I was in and out too fast. The front desk were mostly helpful. I pre-arranged for a hotel car to pick me up from the airport. I arrived on time at but my bags did not. So I did not arrive from the airport to meet my driver until nearly but he was still waiting for me! It was Rs to the hotel billed by the hotel at check out. I also asked for the hotel to help me arrange a taxi to Amritapuri, nearly a three hour drive from Trivandrum. They said they would have one of their cars do it. It was Rs The driver was good and the car had AC and water. I did need to do a little shopping due to delayed luggage. The driver told me the store I asked for was closed and instead took me to his 'friends' stores where he gets money for taking shoppers. By the third one this became irritating. He also asked for a tip on arrival in the States, one never asks for a tip. Overall, I would definitely stay here again but I would either be more forceful with the driver or find another service besides the hotel. This is my second stay here and I am looking forward to my next stay in a month when I leave India. Even the Prime Minister of India has stayed here. I love it! This hotel is right next to the airport and is good for a night or two. The taxis and tuk Tuks that are provided by the hotel are very expensive though. We had a lot of mosquitos in our room, we needed 2 plug-ins to try and kill some. Bed was very comfortable and the food we had was a good standard. Chose it because it was very near airport for early, flight but it is a lovely place to stay anyway. Enjoyed the pool and an Ayurvedic massage. Wifi is unreliable except in hotel reception foyer. Would be nice to be able to have beer or wine on the menu too. Buffet dinner very varied and good value. Beach a five minute walk away but busy road in between. The check-in was fast,room size is big, wide spread of breakfast the rooms overlook the pool, helpful staff are the positive comments about Uday Suites The room services and the restaurants need to speed-up and improve their service to score good points. It is annoyingly slow when you order food both in the restaurant and room services. It was a comfortable stay with a good spread of breakfast. The rooms are very spacious and with good ambience. However the management may like to pay some more attention on maintaining the swimming pool which I feel is the major plus point of this excellent property. Overall an excellent stay. We had a very pleasant stay, the rooms were very nice and clean, the pool was fabulous, the food was very tasty, plenty of variety and the location was good as in near to the airport and town. Stay was very good, relaxed and very comfortable. If you are a business traveler it is not comfortable as no wifi and network for mobile phone is weak. Food is average and they have to improve on taste, quality is good. Very very courteous staff and amazing balcony, if you want to lazy off then good place, beach is m and Veli also close so is domestic airport. Refreshing, if i were to put it in one word! While those desirous of the many shopping areas in Thiruvananthapuram, may want to be closer to the city, for those looking for a change and wanting to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a perfect hotel to get away The nice pool view from the balcony of the room where i stayed, was amazingly well maintained and the staff friendly and helpful If you are looking for some time for yourself, go enroll for one of the various ayurvedic massage therapies on offer at the hotel…. I undertook a traditional Indian oil massage and it felt like heaven…. The sight of airplanes taking off from the nearby airport, was a welcome sight as well I will come back for sure!! We had a good time at Uday suites. Friendly staff. I had bacon for breakfast, that was a surprise :. Dress up - ladies just ensure you are covered from head to toe, or else you will get stares from everyone you come across and will sure make you feel very unconformable. Point 2: Going to the city area with tutu is no issues, but when you return make sure you ask how much is the journey back to the hotel. The TuTu drivers will say its hard to get passengers on their way back to the city. Overall, we had a very nice stay at this hotel. The front desk staff was very courteous and helpful, even offering to prepare a boxed breakfast for us before our early flight the following morning. Rooms were large and comfortable with standard amenities, overlooking the pool. The food at the restaurant was very good, however the service staff was too eager and invasive. We attended the dinner buffet, and expected to be left alone to serve ourselves at the buffet table, however the staff was constantly following us and making suggestions of what we should put in our plates. It almost felt like they were there solely to intimidate guests into eating less food from the buffet, though I suspect that they were simply being aggressive in order to be tipped. Overall, this was a great place to stay before an early flight, about 15 minutes from the international terminal. It was a little overpriced, however that is to be expected of airport hotels. Food service was good. I think bit more authentic taste needs. Had a great experience! Lovely staffs and great service! Everything was good for an Indian 4 star hotel and the location is next to the airport. The price was Great and room service good though the complimentary breakfast was rather boring. We were travelling from Kanyakumari to Trivandrum and we reached the hotel around pm. Since it was hrs journey for us, we asked the in house room service team to serve food. Initially they told they will serve and taken order. Later a staff come and told that kitchen is closed. This was unacceptable for a hotel like have 4 stars. Later we went outside and had food. Booked ans paid through Agoda, had confirmation email from the hotel but when we arrived they had record of our booking and had to be moved to another hotel as they were full and their reservations manager had the cheek to ask me for the difference in price of the second hotel. Hotel Near airport, excellent for a traveler in transit towards other destinations. Staff are good and breakfast OK. Not bad Overall,. Close to airport n very near to shangumugham beach. I ask them twice to bring new or at least clean blankets, but they keep sending dirty ones. I took it for less than KM and they charged me Rupees for drop in only, however I came only using regular taxi. If I return back again, will never book this hotel again!! The most annoying factor of all - Electricity. It was going off several times. Very annoying. The bedsheets were dirty. There were worms on the bathroom floor. Totally unacceptable. The only plus point was the complementary drop-off to the airport. It was a wonderful stay. Complaints were that breakfast and dinner buffet was very plain for a hotel of this standard. Our friends staying at the Taj who paid just slightly more than us were having a much more delightful spread. Food was also very northern indian type instead of being malayalee or south india. Arent we after all in Kerala and South India? Thsi has to improve for a hotel of this stadard. Apart from that staff were great in every aspect helping us in general and very polite and courteous. Might stay again in the future if problems are rectified. I had stayed from 23rd to 30th April at Uday. We had taken two double rooms which were quite close to each other on the ground floor but a long walk away. Apparently all the rooms were taken but they were not and painting works were ongoing. The management is very poor at this hotel. The service is really really bad. The room service and restaurant service is very poor. You can wait for an hour or more for your meals. The variety for breakfast is very good but fruits are always the same. They should change the fruits offered as its cheap and readily available. There is WIFI in the hotel but the four days that we had left at the hotel heavy rain hit and there was no wifi, phone lines or cable tv. They have a setup box for cable TV but that is only offered to guests who request it otherwise most channels are local content and not in English. Only one setup box was available at the time and we had missed the final premier league football game due to this but no fault of the hotel and the staff had gone out of their way to fix the situation but nothing could be done. There are non-hotel guests who come for breakfast, use the pool and the toilets and leave it very very messy. The receptionists are not very helpful although they do try. The hotel managers do make an effort and had introduced us to good Josier and also dentists. The making up of the room and facilities are very good. The SPA is to be avoided as it is not professional and does not offer good massage Ayur services. There are cheaper options and better in town and in Cochin. Rooms were big however Room floors were not mopped our legs were black also the duvet were so worn out I could feel the toughness against the skin. Breakfast was satisfactory. Great service, clean rooms but a little outside town. Hotel clean. Food average. Not much around the area. Good if you just needa comfortable night before usinging the airport 10mins from international terminal. Lovely location, ambinance is great, the rooms are large but could be finished and re-upholstered. He furniture is old and not well keep, the cushions are well used and soiled. Better to have a tissue box on the room. Mosquito issue was there a lttile. We stayed her twice in our travels and well worth it. Proximity to airport comfortable place. Good facilities. However our room was not in good repairs. Would definitely recommend this hotel.. I have stayed here several times and recommend it, but noticed this time that the upholstery on the furniture in my room was dirty.
