ORLANDO Bloom has finally broken his silence on that full-frontal Italian sail in August last year, denying the snaps were a publicity stunt.
“I have been photographed a million times in a million ways. I have a good radar,” the Pirates of the Caribbean star told Elle UK of the nude paddle boating expedition with then-girlfriend Katy Perry .
“We’d been completely alone for five days. Nothing around us. There was no way anyone could get anything. So I had a moment of feeling free,” he continued.
Bloom’s moment of freedom was anything but once NSFW snapshots of the 40-year-old actor ultimately went viral.
“I wouldn’t have put myself in that position if I’d thought it would happen,” Bloom shared, later quipping, “Note to self: you’re never free. Ha!”
Bloom has embraced a new form of independence, however, since splitting from pop star Perry, 32, earlier this year.
“We’re friends,” Bloom said of Perry, without referencing her directly. “It’s good. We’re all grown-up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares what I’m up to. Nor should they. It’s between us.”
He was most recently linked to brunette beauty Erin McCabe.

Yesterday, pics surfaced of Orlando Bloom and GF Katy Perry paddle boarding on vacation in Italy. Katy was wearing an adorable tie-dye bikini, while Orlando wore…. NOTHING. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I kid you not. NAKED AS THE DAY HE WAS BORN. I dutifully posted the pics on Facebook, although there was a bothersome censor box over the naughty bits. Orlando Bloom got stark naked while paddle boarding with Katy Perry.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star's toned and tanned body can be seen in all it's natural glory after Orlando whipped his shorts off while enjoying a day at the beach with his girlfriend on Tuesday during their holiday to Italy.
The actor, 39, looked very comfortable with his nakedness in the snaps as he knelt up on the board behind the famous singer, 31, with his penis on full-display.
The dad-of-one later clamours over some rocks on the beach as he goes commando and even has a fiddle with himself, before frolicking with Katy on the beach as they kiss and cuddle.
Orlando can be seen putting his shorts back on when they return to the beach and their group of friends, and in one shot can be seen pulling on the dark blue clothing while standing in the water.
The photos first appeared online Wednesday night when they were published by the New York Daily News, before appearing on the Daily Star's Thursday front page, where Orlando's penis is strategically covered with an emoji.
The couple, who were plagued by break-up rumours earlier this year after the British hunk was spotted getting close to Selena Gomez at a Las Vegas club, looked head-over-heels in love.
They were pictured indulging in some major PDA on the sand, before grabbing a plate of food.
Katy and Orlando have been dating since January after meeting at the Golden Globes afterparty.
