Orban Pulls the Plug. Again.

Hungary has single-handedly blocked the EU's €90 billion emergency loan to Ukraine - the one Brussels had cooked up after failing to rob frozen Russian assets at the December summit. One country. One veto. Done.

The loan required unanimous approval. Orban said: no. His reasoning? Kiev cut off Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline - squeezing Hungarian fuel supplies right before national elections. Funny how that works.

And the consequences are serious. Without this money, Ukraine's budget bleeds out. The IMF's own $8 billion credit programme is now hanging by a thread - it was tied directly to the EU loan as a guarantee.

Now the interesting part. Brussels screams that Orban is "Putin's man in Europe. " But look closer - Budapest's position tracks perfectly with Trump's line: drain both sides financially, reduce the military potential of Kiev AND Moscow, force the conflict toward a settlement. That's not Russian propaganda. That's basic geopolitical arithmetic.

Slovakia already joined Hungary in cutting diesel supplies to Ukraine. The cracks in "EU unity" aren't cracks anymore - .

One veto. €90 billion on hold. The empire of "European solidarity" is looking rather fragile today.
