It is difficult to turn the locking ring especially when one’s fingers are wet. Otherwise, it’s a fine knife.

The twisting lock is different and works great. The blade is super sharp and I really like having the serrated edge for cutting rope fast. Great little add on to any tackle box or life jacket. I got several in different colors and gave them as gifts!

I have several Opinel knives. Their design is simple and robust. Most of mine have carbon blades and wooden handles. I got this one to keep in my get home bag. The bright color will make it easy to find. The whistle may come in handy;and also negates the need for a separate item. The stainless blade makes it care free. And, the lanyard will most likely be useful, although I will be replacing it with a longer one that will allow me to carry it around my neck. The price is outstanding. You're not not going to find a better knife for the money.

Very cool knive. It's almost like one of the automobile reality shows where they take a great stock model car and turn it into a on-off souped up head-turner. This is a standard Opinel 8 but not so "Plain Jane". It comes with a wild but tastefully colored handle, a better grip, a lanyard, a whistle, and a great ocking system. This is a uniquely cool knife at a very fair price. Opinel did a great job of blending traditional and modern together and came up with a winner.

This knife is amazing. It cuts so well and is very durable. You have to get this product, It is well made and I will get more later.

Great knife use for outdoor activities. Whistle is a plus and effective for outdoors.

I gave this as a gift. I own several and I’ve noticed this polymer version opens and closes more easily because the it doesn’t swell with humidity as the wood handles too. I still love my wooden Opinels as they’re much lighter and more authentic to the original design but this was perfect for who I chose it for and the whistle will be great in case they have any major trouble while hiking.

Decent knife for the money. Holds an edge well. I like the locking system they have. Good knife.👍👍

Useful high quality knife

Usual Opinel quality which is very good. Not as pretty as the wooden handled knives but more practical for use where it will get damp which would make the wooden handled knives 'seize up'. The only slight criticism is that the plastic/fiberglass handle is not very textured which may make it difficult to grip at times. As usual for opinel the blade is very good.

Cut above the rest.

Well worth the extra money for this razor sharp knife. I've always used these knives, because of the price and durability of them, but this knife is definitely a cut above the rest and well worth the money.

Practical and simple closing mechanism.

Practical and easy closing mechanism. Easy to find due to bright colour. Serrated section of edge makes cutting baking twine easy. Used for opening feed bags and bales.

Völlig stumpf ab Werk

Dies ist nun das zweite Opinel, das ich über amazon bestellt habe. Dieses hier ist noch stumpfer als das erste. Jeder Laie kennt den Schnitttest durch ein gewöhnliches Blatt Briefpapier. Oder Mann probiert, ob die Härchen von Arm oder Handrücken "über die Klinge springen". In beiden Fällen Totalversagen. Die Klinge ist so stumpf, dass man so mit dem Messer nichts anfangen kann. Wie kann das sein bei einem 22 €-Messer eines bekannten Markenherstellers? Bei Lidl gibt es hin und wieder Taschenmesser, die für 3,99 € rasiermesserscharf sind. Und ein teures und angebliches gutes Markenmesser muss ich direkt nach dem Kauf zum Schleifer tragen? Sorry, aber das kann nicht sein. Ich überlege gerade, ob ich das jetzt zum zweiten Male akzeptiere, oder ob ich das Messer retourniere. Für 22 € sollte man erwarten können, dass ein Markenmesser scharf aus dem Werk kommt. Ich vergebe gnädige zwei Punkte, weil das letzte Opinel nach dem Nachschärfen seine Schärfe sehr lange behielt. Richtig ist das wohl nicht, denn würden Sie akzeptieren, dass Sie Ihren Neuwagen direkt nach Auslieferung zur kostenpflichtigen Nachbesserung in eine freie Werkstatt bringen müssen? Oder halt selber schrauben?
