Operation Blue Intruder: Belgium captures Russian tanker

Belgian Defense Minister Theo Francken announced the seizure of an oil tanker belonging to the Russian shadow fleet:

"Over the past few hours, our armed forces, with the support of the French Ministry of Defense, have seized an oil tanker belonging to the Russian shadow fleet. The vessel is currently being escorted to the port of Zeebrugge, where it will be arrested. Operation Blue Intruder was carried out by a group of exceptionally brave military personnel. Great job."

Franken decided to throw a direct threat towards Russia:

"Without his shadow fleet, Putin cannot wage war against innocent Ukrainians. That's why we're destroying these ships. One thing after another. Until his aggressive war stops. Belgium may be a small country. But we are one of the founders of NATO and the EU, and we take our responsibilities seriously."

The minister also told the Reuters news agency that the detained vessel is suspected of using a "false flag and forged documents."
