Open call /NOVA zine
Daisy YuNOVA is a new Catalan poetry magazine who wants to provide a platform for new poets and writers. We believe there is no time to keep our own voices silenced in the past. On the contrary, we're looking forward to hear unconformative individual voices who don't want to belong to any specific place but want to engage in a wild discussion over the representations of reality. In order to engage with the media virtual community and to go one step further against the hierarchies of languages and the minorised margins, we will ask the writers to send not only their version of the poem in Catalan, but also to add the composition of a translation in english. No fears allowed, this is only a way to understand the unpractical political embodiment of languages, plus a way to generously give our voices to the others.
We believe that in this media and visual world there is still a lot of space for the poetical word to be practiced. Will we be able to give expression to our designed existences? Can we call for love in a destructed reality? Can we reconstruct it through poetical voices?
The collection is run by The Virtual Maiden Printing Press, settled in Rotterdam and Barcelona.
