Following rigorous competition and more than 130,000 voters, the World’s Most Beautiful Vagina Contest anointed a champion this week. It was a strange, difficult-to-gauge event—but that’s why organizers turned to scientists to tell us what it all means.
U.K. resident Nell, 27, won first place and $5,000 in the pageant with a vulva beauty ranking of 7.7 out of 10. Jenny, 23, of Bavaria, Germany, took second place with a 7.3; and Anita, 20, from Hungary, came in third. They each earned $2,500 and $1,250, respectively.
The contest was sponsored by Brian Sloan, who is also the manufacturer of the Autoblow 2 . It’s known as “the first truly realistic alternative to traditional pleasure products for men,” according to the its website .
These winners will also be flown out to Los Angeles, where their vulvas will be 3D-scanned to later be reproduced for the Autoblow device.
Sloan contracted a group of data scientists to analyze the contest’s findings for their scientific implications. The data was then compiled in “ The Vulva Paper .”
If you’re a visual learner, you can view photo examples of each class here .
The Vulva Paper’s website says scientists “used the contest data to assess the diversity in vulval morphology and voters’ preference for different morphologies.” A total of 182 women participated in the contest; 110 entries were examined for the study (if measurements could not be taken from the photo, the entry was not considered).
The scientists viewed each entry on a 15-inch computer screen, zooming in “until the genitalia were easily measured using a screen ruler,” read the paper .
They measured labia majora length, labia minora length, and clitoral hood length.
Finally, the scientists rated the complexity of the labia minora; they used the three categories of rugosity (smooth, moderate, marked) to do so. To prevent vaginal bias, the same person also conducted all of these measurements. The scientists later used this research to classify the contest’s entries into six different categories of “vulval morphology.”
A chart detailing the six classes is included below:
As far as methodology is concerned, a random assortment of entries was sent to each voter, who was then asked to rate the vulva pictured on a scale from 1 to 10. These voters were only able to rank one photo at a time, but could also vote on an unlimited number of entries. The scientists compiled 2,766,671 ratings from 134,707 contest voters.
“To reduce individual biases, we centered each voter’s ratings using their mean and standard deviation. This allowed us to reflect the preferences of voters on the same scale,” read the study .
According to the paper , each voter rated 21 photos, on average. Each vulva also received 15,285 votes, on average.
The study also found that “roughly 51% of voters preferred the first two classes of non-protruding, simple labia. The other 49% favored the four more complex vulva classes.”
“As expected from the rankings that we saw at the country and local levels, Class 1 vulvas are preferred over the others more often. But the combined percentages of voters who preferred more complex classes of vulvas far outweighed those who preferred the simplest style.”
The winners’ photos, however, were not included in the study—having been among the participants whose photos were not able to be considered. Moreover, the “doggy style” posture featured in these entries made it difficult for the scientists to complete the necessary measurements.
“Indeed, pictures depicting contest entrants in a doggy style position obtained ratings 2 points higher on average (p <0.001) than others. Other features, like piercings in the clitoral hood, didn’t affect the ratings,” read the study .
So basically, the “doggy style” photos generated “influential excitement” among the contest’s voters—an important competitive advantage for all future entrants to consider.

Teen Mom star Farrah Abraham shared on her Instagram page Saturday photos from her—wait for it—vaginal rejuvenation procedure. In one of the pics, the 26-year-old is seen dressed in just a silver bra and lying on a clinic bed at the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center while a nurse, Sara Fowler , attends to her...down there.
"Loving my lady parts!" wrote Abraham, who gave birth to her daughter eight years ago.
The clinic's Instagram page also featured a photo of the reality star undergoing her noninvasive procedure. A photographer and cameraman are visible in the pic.
"Today at BHRCLA Teen Mom @farrah__abraham rejuvenating her lady parts! #vaginalrejuvenation #femme360 #teenmom," the post read .
The nurse posted on her own Instagram page more pics of her with Abraham as well as a video explaining the procedure to her.
"What this does is distributes little wounds through radio frequency which kind of breaks up the collagen and forces it to restore during that healing process, so everything becomes tighter and you actually experience," she said.
"Like I'm 16 again?" interrupted Abraham.
"There you go, like you're 16 again!" the nurse responded.
"Today, @farrah__abraham visited us at BHRC to rejuvenate her lady parts," Fowler wrote. "Like so many, she was a little nervous at first but quickly realized there is nothing to fear."
"#VaginalRejuvenation with our Ultra Femme 360 is a 30 minute pain-free non-invasive treatment," she wrote . "It works by delivering radio frequency to the underlying fibers, provoking the skin to produce NEW collagen. As a result, women experience a dramatic increase in tightness and sexual satisfaction. This treatment also helps eliminate stress incontinence, a common issue for women who have given birth. #teenmom #femininerejuvenation #bhrcbabe."
Abraham has been open about her past plastic surgery and other cosmetic procedures.
She has had two b oob jobs over the years and got a nose job and chin implants in 2012. More than two years ago, she got lip injections —which did not go well.

Experts are warning against claims you can “boost libido” by performing a bizarre a naked ritual every day, calling it “plain dangerous”.
Experts are warning women against a sunbaking their vaginas after an influencer claimed she exposed hers for two hours a day to “boost her libido”.
Brazilian model Letícia Martins, known as Lunna Leblanc, revealed on Instagram she exposed her private parts to the sun for two hours a day, claiming her daily ritual “can provide you with more energy, increase your libido and help you get a good night’s sleep”.
The 23-year-old accompanied her post with an X-rated photo that showed her legs spread apart as she lay on what appears to be a balcony.
She appeared to be completely naked, her hand protecting her modesty.
“Nothing better than a morning sun,” she wrote. “I love this experience.”
But experts have warned against the X-rated trend with one telling news.com.au the act was “plain dangerous”.
Dr Deb Cohen Jones, a GP with over 20 years experience and a skincare expert from Perth said the claims were “not only false but unsafe and potentially harmful”.
“The vaginal skin is typically previously sun naive and hence much more likely to burn,” she said.
“It is not uncommon for women to have moles or pigmented lesions on the vagina which, if exposed to excess sun, could subsequently develop pre cancerous or even cancerous changes as a result.”
It’s not clear whether Lunna applies SPF during her ritual, but either way Dr Cohen Jones – who co-founded prescription skincare brand, The Secret Skincare , with friend and fellow medical professional Dr Clara Hurst – said it’s not a good idea.
“There is no mention of sunscreen in her claims and no sun exposure of 2hrs duration should occur without factor 50 protection,” Dr Cohen Jones said.
“To my knowledge there are no vagina safe sunscreens which would provide this protection and therefore make this activity safe on any level, never mind the ridiculous claims its seems to make.”
Instead, Dr Cohen Jones recommends keeping your vagina “adequately covered” by swimmers and leaving vitamin D absorption to the “more appropriate body parts”.
Dr Michele Squire, a PhD-qualified scientist and registered nurse with over 15 years research in skin science, shared the same concerns.
“Sunlight makes us feel happy and mood has a strong association with sexual desire,” she told news.com.au.
“But the concept of deliberately sunning your labia for hours each day to increase libido – well that’s just plain dangerous.”
Dr Squire – who is also the founder of Qr8 and Qr8 MediSkin – said the bizarre claims were particularly worrying for anyone attempting it in Australia as it is the “skin cancer capital of the world”.
“According to our Cancer Council, skin cancer and melanoma account for more than 80 per cengt of all new cases of cancer diagnoses in Australia each year. And the cause is… sun exposure.”
She explained that Australians generally don’t have an issue with vitamin D levels so “only a few minutes (not several hours) in the sun each day are sufficient” for most people.
“You don’t need to expose this particular sun naive body part to generate vitamin D,” she stressed, adding that if you did develop skin cancer in that part of your body it would be “uncomfortable” to treat.
Lunna, who has 13,400 followers, is best known for her racy bikini photos and doesn’t list having any medical qualifications.
While a vitamin D deficiency has been linked to a dwindling sex drive in studies , Dr Cohen Jones said the link was a “querulous one”.
“The best way to achieve adequate vitamin D levels is through exposure to the arms and legs in early morning sun rather then the nether regions in full sun for two hours,” she said.
Another safe way to boost the vital vitamin – which is necessary for skin, bones and general health – was to take a supplement, Healthline states.
Dangers of sun exposure can include developing skin cancer, painful sun burn and heat stroke.
It isn’t the first time a social media user has credited exposing their privates to the sun in order to gain unfounded health benefits.
Meagan, from California, posted a picture of herself practising what she described as “perineum sunning” – a fancy term for lying naked on your back with your legs up while the sun bores directly into you.
The woman, who goes by Metaphysical Meagan on social media, said it was part of her “daily rising routine” and that she’s even ditched her morning coffee for the practice.
Meagan claimed that just 30 seconds of sun on her perineum – the area between her anus and vulva – was the same as spending a day in the sun fully-clothed.
Despite doctors warning against the unusual practice, Meagan continues to promote it on her social media page, sharing pictures of herself legs akimbo and her bum to the sky.
